Ultimate Captain America WW2 Helmet (pic intensive)

You can get reproduction WWII chinstraps here:

I've dealt with that company several times and their stuff is top notch. You can get both the web straps that attach to the helmet, and the leather strap that attaches to the liner. Just go to US>headgear>helmet parts, and you'll see a bunch of stuff.

To be accurate to WWII, you'll probably want to remove the little alligator tooth retainer piece on the bails. WWII bails were just rectangular wire rings (either welded on, early war, or on a swivel, later war).

Thanks for the great info!

Is this the right photo?

Are you referring to the small diamond shape within the tooth-shaped cutout in the metal piece on the bottom left of the image?

How should it look? I might be able to fabricate one if need be.

COOL!
I went searching Google for Cap's helmet, and it lead me right back to the RPF!!!
As it should be!!

Nice job Mac, I'm painting up a lightweight liner for my grandson!
He's gonna LOVE it!

Don't mean to hijack this post as I am brand new to the RPF and am not sure of the protocol but I was admiring your WWII Captain America helmet and wanted to show my First Avenger version. I was going for the look of the helmet he stole from the USO girl with the paratrooper chinstrap. Please let me know what you think. Thanks
