Tyrell Stock Certificate

Hey gang. I'm still working on the full set of Blade Runner oney and Deckard's Passport (slow going - but gorgeous if I do say so.), and got sidetracked, making this - the 1,000 Share Capital Stock Certificate for the Tyrell Corporation.

Has a holographic gold foil ID strip.

Fine cut-line that I generated of the Tyrell pyramid.

and best of all, it's printed on a gorgeous Asian paper, which features bird watermarks:

I bumped the contrast so you could see the pattern a little better, on the rear:

Whattya think?

Thanks. I'm currently enjoying a 51% controlling share... but I can hook you up if you want to "invest" in Tyrell :love

Pris? Oh man... haven't you heard? She had a little "accident" involving a very cool gun....

Very cool stuff. The multi layered look with the foil and water marks are nice touches.

Oh, I'd like a Rachel model.

That's OK. I hear they come in six packs.

Great find on the paper stock, too. That really helps sell it. (No pun intended).

Thanks Ken.
There's a lot of digital recasting in the future... gotta have measures in place to deter.

Yeah, it inspired me to make the cert when I stumbled across it a while back. I'm such a paper junkie.

It's a beautifully made piece. If this is meant to be a show-off thread and not elicit comments, let me know and I'll edit this.

To me the piece screams more Firefly than Bladerunner.

I like the cut line filter on the pyramid, and the authentic-looking (clipart or your work?) guilloche patterns.

What makes it feel less than BR-world to me is the Tyrell Corporation font as well as the tag-line's font. I apologize if it is in fact based off a logo used in the film, but those font treatments just don't feel like what a real mega-corporate brand would have.

I love the owl (because I love owls). However I wonder if the piece would look stronger design-wise either without it or with a large closeup of the owl's head instead of the outstretched flying version.

Comments are always welcome - I love critique - that's why I ask for it.

The tagline font - I'm just currently in love with the script, so it doesn't scream Firefly to me, but I'm probably too "close" to it. Used it in some HP Lovecraft-ian stuff I made recently, too. The main Tyrell font is something from the 80s so I thought it apropos, as is most of the surrounding file material. Like the money, I'm using what the prop guys used in cobbling together the bills. The other fonts (besides helvetica) are pre-50s. The owl is not from clip art - it's also on one of my bills. Tyrell bldg is from Cinefex.

In most stock certs I looked at, the animals or scenes depicted were usually "scenes" and not detail-oriented, so I used the full-body. I tried to make this look "cheesy futuristic" in keeping with a 1982 view of what the future would look like, but of course, at teh end of the day, I did what I wanted to. Thank you for the honest critique though, I very much appreciate it.

Thanks.

do you do money? if so are you going to do any that we could get?

Yep and yep - will be done sooner or later:

The 1 & 5 will match what the "production bills" looked like, but will not be monochromatic. I obtained the source currency from the right era, and recreated the designs, keeping/tweaking the colors. Sourced the correct stamps used, as well (they are off-the-shelf items, believe it or not), with the exception of three, which I have silkscreened - it imparts a nice contrasting sheen (that's the silkscreens drying, above).

They also have my take on the reverse, design-wise. Again - just me monkeying around. Sample:

The full set, when complete, will be the following denominations: 1, 2, 5, 10, 50, 100.. maybe 20, too.

Then I'll finish off Deckard's Passport, and then make Off-World currency. LOL - it's too fun not to.

x?ng fèn.

You know, considering both shows decide to mix the asian and western cultures, I'm not surprised people might see that. I like the font used, very artdeco/Frank Lloyd Wright-ish, which, in itself, works for the BR universe.
