Tusken cycler rifle color question

I'm building a Tusken raider rifle. In all my reference pictures its obvious the barrel isn't gun metal gray. The problem is I'm colorblind. It looks dark bronze or flat black. I'm using 1/2 steel conduit for the barrel, I was thinking of going with flat black and weathering it. Any thoughts?

thanks

Well...the vintage oriental weapons don´t know classic -chemical- blueing.
The oiled rubbed bronze looks a bit too brown IMHO and reflects a more rusted/ weathered barrel.

Based on the few available reference pics, I´d go with a flat black base and use the bronze just for a light coating.
Hard to tell the actual color of the barrel because of the yellow/ brwon hue of the old archive pictures.

Try it on a scrap piece first and see if you like the result.

cool thanks

Just took another look at the few tiny pics I have...hard to tell since none of the OT Tusken rifles is photographed in a way that clearly shows the barrel...anyway, flat black, bronze highliting and silver drybrushing should do the trick.

Lukes hunting rifle definately has a matt/ weathered silver barrel!
