Trooper Master ANH Hero Helmet

I had been looking out for a TM hero helmet for most of last year and in december i finally snagged a raw kit, cool 8)
I didnt really get a chance to put it together over the holidays as i wanted as i was always too busy helping myself to another mince pie or glass or sherry, hic, so i have only just got around to getting it done.
I already have a couple of low brow hero helmets so i decided to go for the slightly higher version as seen on Han. Although saying that i have not tried to replicate that particular helmet in the details but i just went with what i felt like at the time of building..
I also want to use this for troops which will explain the flat green lenses. I find bubble lenses give me terrible headaches and you cant see a thing with them iether!

I found the ears quite challenging with no trim lines, so thanks to Paul for the tips, im not sure if im 100% done with them yet..

All hand painted details and i have decided to use Mike's (TK4510) dave m style tube strips. So this is a 15-16er..

hey mate - you got more than enough TK lids as is!!

look, l'll do you a favour, u can send it to me instead :D

lookin good

How is the size compared to FX and AP.

My problem is AP is to small and Fx to big. I am looking for something in between? Can you compare them beside FX and AP.

I dont like the RT version.

I am on the lookout for a good new helmet for my armor.

But the real accuracy question is: what color are the lenses ?! :lol

I now have absolute categorical proof that the Hero bubble lenses were coloured pink, with little orange spots on them to help Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford gauge distances when wearing their lids on-set. Honestly.

That helmet looks great btw but needs the proper lenses. I'm doing a run now using the same Ribena bottles used for the originals in 1976. I'm just looking to cover my costs so are only £356 per set.

Cheers

Jez

Unfortunately i have no longer got an FX or AP helmet to take any pics to show you the size difference...

But i would say that is it comparable in size more in line with the AP not the over sized FX. Assembly has a lot to do with sizing of these lids i would say a stunt helmet would be more roomy than a hero due to the angle of the faceplate.

I would also say that my TE2 stunt style helmets are more roomy than the TM and TE hero lids that i own.

I hope this was of some help to you :thumbsup

That's strange. In the movie, you can clearly see that the lenses are smoke gray-almost black!
