I'm not really making any money off this run. I'm just doing it for the love of the saber and the saber smithing, so you not buying one causes no negative thoughts from me. That fact that you like my work enough to follow this thread means a lot to me. Thank you.
And it's not all me. I've had help from a couple extremely talented people (who can make themselves known if they like), and of course a very skilled machinist.

He's already only charging me half of what any other machinist would. As an experiment, we sent the blueprints of the shroud ALONE to a bunch of other machinists, and they all wanted about $150 for each one.
I've said before, as infuriating as these constant delays are, it's either put up with that, or pay twice as much.

Should have something on Monday-ish. I haven't been able to get down there.
Also, no guarantee, but the machinist tells me could be finished by the end of the month. Fingers crossed. I still need to order the LEDs, but can't so that until I start collecting the money from everyone, as I've been out of work on unpaid medical leave for 3 months.
So I'll probably be sending them out in small batches over the course of a couple weeks starting with the domestic orders.
Should have something on Monday-ish. I haven't been able to get down there.
Also, no guarantee, but the machinist tells me could be finished by the end of the month. Fingers crossed. I still need to order the LEDs, but can't so that until I start collecting the money from everyone, as I've been out of work on unpaid medical leave for 3 months.

I'm sorry this is taking so long. It's looking like these will be finished and shipping by the end of January.
Here's what I've got for ya today:
The extra bit of material by the pommel end was taken off, which means the rings now touch the knurling, and the sabers are the accurate length:
Business end of one with the hollow inserts for blade users:
And now the Delrin/acetal lathe work continues with covertech knobs (still need to put the countersink in the top). When these are done, all lathe work for this run will be finished and hen it'll be all mill work.
There will probably be quite a few surplus covertech knobs, so if anyone needs any for custom builds, and don't want to spend $20 for a knob and belt clip, I'll be selling the knobs alone for probably about $5 shipped. More on that later. All depends on how much material is left over.
Should have another update around new year's.
