Trek Props on Display

I dont think its old news, it was just announced wasent it?, and I for one cant wait for this, i've been waiting for this my whole life!!! i'll be going to the exhibit in san fransisco and sacramento!
 
I'm also from Oklahoma. (Durant) But it looks like I'll be making the trip to the Dallas/Ft. Worth exhibit as it's much closer to our neck of the woods. :)

I noticed something rather interesting: if you look at the pics of the upcoming exhibits on ST.com, they show a picture of the "shooting model" of the Enterprise A. This can't be the 8 footer used in the movies as it was sold at the Christie's auction last year. Given the apparent (larger) size shown in the pictures, I wonder if this is simply the display model shown at the ST Experience in Vegas?
 
I noticed that as well - and notice, it doesn't have any of the paint on the secondary hull, and that weird red paint on the torpedo bay. Weird!
 
I can't beleive I didn't see this thread before! I must go geek out!

I'd be going to the Tampa Fl event but can't find any info on when it would be in this area... anybody know how to find out?
 
I don't mean to dampen anyones enthusiasm, but it's scheduled to tour the US over the next five years, and that list of cities is TENTATIVE. It's going to cost a pretty penny to keep that tour going for five years, and if they don't at least break even, you can count on some dates being eliminated. If you have the chance go see it in one of the larger Metropolitan cities, do it. Don't want for it to come to the smaller sites. You may be disappointed.
 
I wonder how the stuff on display will be different than what's on display in Vegas. There's a lot of nice stuff under glass there.
