Transformers Bumblebee pic

Awesome to see a contemporary film make A REAL prop. Though, I can't help but feel the design looks like something out of a Sharper Image catalog.

That pic was taken in Downtown L.A. The production closed some streets for one day of shooting. I would of loved to have been there, but was at work. My sister in law works around that area & she had received a notice that she would have to park somewhere else due to the filming. Jc

Is that thing really as big as the trashcan and 5 gallon buckets in the pic are making it seem, or are they scaled too? :confused

Edit: Never mind, I just saw the person in the pic. wow.

Ugh, another reason NOT to see the Transformers movie.

While that Robot looks nice...it's not Bumblebee.

Im with you there....

Not being a Transformers fan and never having seen the original B.Bee, what did it look like compared to the movie version shown? Anyone? Bueller?

The original BumbleBee was a yellow Volkswagon Bug (classic), and was a smaller more colorful part of the storyline.

Thsi new one is a camaro and seems is a central part of the storyline.

Nice robot, it is nice to see some practical special effect in this day and age.

The movie will still suck Damn you Michael Bay....

I'd like to know where the rest of the car went.

you really dont want to know man... ouch. :p

I love the new Camaro, but I don't particularly care for Bumblebee's robot mode. The design's just too damn busy. It looks like they threw a Camaro body into a chipper shredder and glued the remains onto a Macross or Robotech. With the traditional designs, you could at least tell what the robots transformed into. (Volkswagen, Freightliner, Porchse, Datsun/Nissan, etc.) There's not enough of the Camaro left intact after the transformation. Just an oppinion. :angel

Exactly. There's nothing standout about any of the designs except for their suckitude.
They all look like Rorschach tests.
Bah.

Come on, they are giant alien robots that can transform at will. I would imagine that to not be an easy, simple process, so it makes sense that the he looks complicated, because again he's a giant transforming alien robot. Now me, not having grown up with the transformers, am not greatly affected by the all the changes made to how the bots look, I think most of them are very cool and modern looking, although one thing I don't like is the color scheme they decided on for Optimus Prime, but other than that I don't really have any gripe with the film

At least with that Citroen commercial from a few years back you could tell it was a car that it transformed from... so there's no excuse that the robot mode would look as bad as these do. I think Optimus Prime looks even worse than Bumblebee too.
