Unlimited Run Tony Stark/Iron Man/War Machine Gloves/Gauntlets - Open Run

Re: DarkMatterForge - Iron Man/Tony Stark Gloves/Gauntlets - Now Taking Orders!

I really want to order but am concerned that the hand and fingers will be to small, where did you do the palm measurements. Did you measure above the thumb or below it

Darth, click the photos in the first post, it opens a photo album with some very in-depth shots of the measurements, inside and out.

Since people respond well to visual things, here is a photo professionally done showing the individual components. Mike, no need to pay me, this one is on the house. And feel free to integrate it if you like, might stop some future questions.

LOL, thanks for the picture and catching those questions. dday is right on both counts. The picture sums up the different parts pretty good. I might do some more images with each part separate from the others for further clarification. Don't forget that there are some options that combine the separate parts for a bigger discount.

For those who have concerns about the size... check out the measurement images in the first post and if you still have questions on size then send me a PM.

Hi, I was wondering if you have a rough ETA on possible completion on the hands?

Re: DarkMatterForge - Iron Man/Tony Stark Gloves/Gauntlets - Now Taking Orders!

For those of you that got in on the first run, do you want me to cut open your hand armor for you? I will cut it in half all the way around as I think that is the best way. Let me know.

What ever you think is best. I trust your judgement :D

As to the cutting of the hand armor, I had thought this was part of the package already, so I say yes, cut it open...

But in the cutting open, you mean in half like two slices of bread? Or cutting basically the top just below the knuckles to leave the structural strength around where the fingers attach, which is the weakest and most susceptible to breakage?

photo of potential cuts. I"m interested in a cut like this, if you're going to be cutting.

Well, I don't think that is a major concern. My glove is cut in half, like two slices of bread, just like the movie version. I have worn my glove many times and it has been thrown in a bag with other items. Also, that was with the cardstock/bondo/fiberglass glove which is weaker than these resin gloves. Nothing really touches the finger bridges not to mention the fingers themselves provide good protection and the bridges are not that thin and weak. Another thing is that some of the Iron Man gloves from the movie don't even have finger bridges. I would say the biggest concern would be damage during the construction phase.

I would not cut it like you show in your picture. If you want to leave the finger bridges intact then you would still want to cut the the thumb area in half. You will have a hard time getting your hand in otherwise. I have cut a glove like this before to leave the finger bridges intact and what I noticed is that when you make a fist your knuckles rise up/get thicker. If the knuckles on the glove are solid and non flexible then you can't make a good fist and it is somewhat uncomfortable. It is up to you but I would suggest cutting it in half like the movie version.

Re: DarkMatterForge - Iron Man/Tony Stark Gloves/Gauntlets - Now Taking Orders!

Hi Mike- not sure what happened to my reply in regards to the cutting- but yes please- if you could cut my hands up as suggested (like yours with the hinge mech)- i'm happy with that.

Re: DarkMatterForge - Iron Man/Tony Stark Gloves/Gauntlets - Now Taking Orders!

Mike, thanks for the explanation. Since these kits are unfinished, just leave mine uncut and I will have a look at it and determine how I want to make the cut once I get them. Thanks!
