TLJ graflex grip qurstion.

Do the grips in TLJ run the entire length of the graflex bottom or are they spaced like in the Maz box version from TFA?

No, they are the same as the other TFA hero saber (Finn's saber):

The numbers are slightly different than in this image: length grip: 88mm, cut notch: 7.0mm wide and 14.0mm distance from edges. The rivet head diameter is 5.6mm.

Me neither! They made a good choice imo. And I think they were more consequent throughout TLJ.

Bumping this because I'm doing a TFA/TLJ conversion – the grips touch the bottom the the can, right? If so, how does the 3.5mm gap between the grips and the clamp work?

3-cell bottom: 92 mm (the 2 Roman's and 1 vintage bottoms I have actually stick out 92.5mm when pushed all the way in)

Grips: 88mm

Which leaves a 4mm gap. (4.5mm, in the case of my flash, which looks absolutely enormous.)

So...what gives?

Contrary to popular belief, TLJ Hero (one displayed in Awesomecon) has a grip length of about 90mm, and not 88mm that many people believe it to be.

I also think vintage bottom cans are not consistent in length

That's more in line with what I'm seeing. I've modeled a 90mm version and am having it printed. Thanks!
