Timecon's Tron Legacy Identity Disc mod and costume thread

yes another Tron thread but after seeing all the amazing stuff and Ideas that everyone has had and seeing the movie I want to get this started early, now this will be my thread for my costume as well but obviously Im starting with a prop so I wasn't sure which area to put it in so Im going to put it here but if thats not ok please feel free to correct me.

So I bought a few of those disks last thru when target was doing there 9.99 sale and thought that they didn't glow like in the movie and wanted to make it so they did and low and behold I wasn't the first to get that idea after coming on here the other night. so here is the beginnings.

I bought 4 and only opened up one so far here are the other 3

the mess that issued I was thinking of el wire at first but as Soulinertia pointed out that leds were brighter

I had also pulled out the middle ring and decided to make a mold of it using some left over rebound 25 and was going to use clear resing to replace it but then saw again Soulinertia found a cheaper way so I tried the clear hotglue but may also try the opaque later just didnt have any at the time.

let me know if you have any questions I try my best to answer them and I will also keep an eye out for all the other amazing ideas that you guys come up with as well.

So you molded the inner ring, then you cast it with hot glue? It's looking good, I'm thinking about picking one up and modding it too, but I'm not that skilled with elecTRONics. Ha see what i did there?

by no means i'm I an expert on electronics either I know very basic stuff and sometime cant even understand the diagrams people release on here.

lol well i hope you don't electrocute yourself i know how to solder, and understand basic electronics too, but definitely not enough to make it light up in the sequence it does it the movie. i would like to make it light up in the sequence, and yes to your question I did mention that in my first post though i used clear hot glue but would like to also try the opaque.

Look forward to seeing your progress on the disc. I saw the movie about a week and a half ago. I got one of the discs at Target this weekend and am following all of the mod threads in the hopes of modding my own.
