I've been a long time onlooker and admirer to the array of talent & interests on this forum, but always had missed out on the opportunity to join up, until now! Some of you might already know me from the "TDH" or the 501st as "BH3200" or "Galactic Bounty Hunter", hence the abbreviated username "GBH", I guess people just started calling me that because for someone to type it out every time is just a pain in the arshhh! :lol Anyway, I don't know if this is the correct place to do it, but I thought I'd in a sense "OFFICIALLY" introduce myself, so members aren't all, "who the hell is this guy" every time I post! I'd also thought I'd include some pictures of one of my favorite costumes so people can get a sense of my personality and potential grounds of common interest. So thanks for letting me blah, blah, blah for a bit and I can honestly say I'm definitely looking forward to becoming an involved member of this community. :thumbsup

Hello!
I'd love to hear more about that costume. Particularly how you pull 'skin' pieces like that together so seamlessly. Meaning - getting the 'bare' chest to flow into the neck and head areas.

Thanks for the compliments guys, he's a fun character to do!

Hey Chris, the headpiece & chest are all one piece that tucks in below the belt line with velcro straps that are attached to the mid section and shoulders, I've attached a picture of me getting ready that kind of helps visually explain it.

GBH. Glad to see you've finally made it over here. I've been singing the praises of your Hellboy ever since D*Con 06' when I saw it in person. I was the V for Vendetta you chatted with after the heroes photo shoot.

Really well done, GBH, plus that mirror pic is great. How long did it take for you to build it total?

Nice costume didnt I see you at New york Comic con Me and hotshot and a few other friends were working the Atari Ghostbusters booth.

Welcome!
Great costume!

While your at it: Can you tell us about your guns, too?!
I like your boots aswell... :lol

Hey DM! Yes, FINALLY! :lol But Thanks, yes, it's good to finally have the opportunity to be part of this community!

I wish I was one of people working the Atari booth, but said to say I haven't made it there yet! :rolleyes

The pistol is the one of the original Sideshow Collectibles, with a set of the new glowing tracer bullets, but my Big Baby is a homemade replica based off of the "SSC" prop photos. I've included some up close pics and one of me working on it! That mother is heavy though, it's made up of various hard woods and aluminum, I'd say it's a good 15 lbs.

As far as the boots go, I tried to get as close to the real ones as possible, which also happen to have some lift built into them, I don't know how tall Ron Perlman actually is, but I'm only 6'1", so I have to find some way to get to the 6'5" height they say Hellboy is in the movie.

What material is that, if I may ask.

The material is Latex. A life-cast was done of my head down to my waist and the sculpt was done from there. I wish I could take full credit for the entire build of the costume, but Lance @ XtremedesignFX is responsible for the headpiece and tail, I think he did an incredible job!

THX again guys for the compliments! :thumbsup

Ooo yeah, some more creation pictures of your Big Baby would be lovely, that looks like a great build.

And your workshop floor could do with a sweep?

I saw your costume in person at Dragoncon last year and was thoroughly impressed.

Keep up the great work! Going to be at D*C '09?

I hope to be, although I went to Dcon's website just yesterday, to look at booking a room, i figured, well it still 5 months out, should be something available, but it lists everything, including overflow hotels as... Full! :eek So I don't know, I'd like to, but right now it looks a little bleak! :confused
