Thomas Helmet FULL LED light rig for Volpin helmet!

So far I've been working on my Thomas helmet full rig light set and its coming along quite nicely. Im not finished but it will be done as professionally as possible. I've been quite fascinated with this for a long time and i have been researching how to make this for some time now. For about a year and 4 moths i have been researching how to do this from designing pcb's and programming chips/arduino as well. I am sorry that this will only fit a Volpin helmet but i guess its ok. that just means that you have to buy a Volpin helmet lol. i think Volpin might like that :thumbsup. So if you have one you built it may not fit. but anyways,it will be fully controlled via iPhone and be as close as possible to the rig on the original Thomas helmet. other than having a 11x40 display like the original mine will have a 8x32 and the 58 lights that are on the side. i call them the confusing/rainbow part of the helmet and the ears as well. every light will be able to be fully controlled with a iPhone and i mean EVERY light. and you will be able to pick from presets on the app and create your own animations as well. and i also mean that for every light on the helmet.

If i can sell this for the price i am asking for then i will be able to make a full guy helmet light rig as well as 14x38 display that goes with it, and don't worry, its going to be a 99.99% accurate size to the original one and will also fit the 99.99% accurate helmet i am going to be building as well. I will be making both of them and i will also make the back parts detachable just like the original ones. THEN, i will make the 11x40 Thomas display. a lot of people say its different then that but i have counted them countless times and have got the same exact number every time.

After that i will be making the gloves. but they will be accurate to the discovery era gloves and then we will be moving on to the backpacks as well and then last but not least, the gauntlets. everything will be from the discovery era.

i will be making this as accurate as possible. trust me, i am not going to waste my time on making something that is close or almost accurate. I'm going all out and this is going to be revolutionary. So, i guess the first person to read this can say he/she was the first to see the revolution begin because i plan on making this the ULTIMATE BUILD never before seen on the internet and all of the other items i will be making will be as close as possible (99.99%) close to the original, even if that means it wont fit my head or something of that nature I'm still going to make it close to exact as the original.

The only reason I'm not doing the led display like the original right now is because i need to sell that for a reasonable price to fund this build. i only have enough right now to make the display.

GO DAFT PUNK!!!

sorry for the late updates but the good news is that im almost done wiring the new lights display ive created cuz i couldn't find a way to make them all 100% straight with the black foam things but i found a new way and its AMAZING you'll all see how crazy this is going to be when its done. you guys have never seen something like this on the net before trust me. besides the originals ok lol.

guess what everyone!!! i just spilled a bunch of solder flux all over the matrix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! now its dirty and i have to start over again but its ok. I'LL NEVER STOP UNTILL IM DONE!!!!! anybody want it? im also selling the othe one as well. $20 each. ill post pics.
tomorrow im gonna get everything done up untill the point that i am at right now so dont worry im not taking my time this time. but i will still have accuracy.

oh yeah, one more thing, the one i spilled flux on was way worse than the picture shows. it doesnt look as bad as it did because i gave it a nailpolish remover and rubbing alcohol mix bath. i heard its supposed to take off flux which it did but it needs more work i dont want to do.

another update. because cutting out pieces of perf board is cheap and lame and bad quality im gonna have them printed from osh park.

another update, ive designed the little pcb's that go behind the leds to basically connect themselves when i put them on. so pretty much, this is going to turn into a 1 day project but i have to wait for osh park to finish making all of them lol. i can wait to show u guys.
