This is Pod Racing-Jake Lloyd

happened here where I live.. .(started somewhere around in the Charleston area then on to Colleton County where he wrecked. ) not sure why he would be in the area but its a big tourist town with lots of pubs .. or may know someone here. I wonder since he is from Colorado if he had a bag of weed in the car and thats why he bolted! LOL!

I don't know why he got all "poor me" about it over the years. You don't just wait for something else to happen. If he wanted to not just be remembered for Star Wars then he could have done other things and kept up with his craft and just be known as one of his first roles being Star Wars and moving on to other things. To just sit there and mope and try not to make something better of himself than he wanted himself to be seen as is just not something I can feel sorry about. I hope he pulls himself together and leaves that in the past to be hopefully forgotten.

Yeah I don't blame Jake Loyd for the acting... When the cast Hayden I thought nothing and then saw him in "Life as a House"... I remember thinking "What happened? He's good in this..."

:behave

And Natalie Portman was terrible in it... "MATHILDA" was awful? How do you screw up Natalie Portman who came out of the gates a great kid actress (Check out her scene in "Leon" when she's drunk at the table)

I feel bad for Jake...

You say that as if just moving on with an acting career is an easy thing to do. After being over-exposed as a child in a role that people didn't remember fondly, it's pretty hard to keep going in that world. You have to really distance yourself from the role(s) that made you famous which means starting from scratch in the career sense.

I didn't say it was easy. What I read is that he wanted to get out of acting and not be in that sort of area of work and was "happy" at where he was doing editing or school.

These were some notable ones I remember:

It's like he loves it, kinda not into it, thankful for Anakin, happy as a freelance editor for corporate stuff, bleh.... I don't know. There's just a little bit of edge that comes off a bit ingenuine.

He looks pretty checked out here:
Though I kinda feel bad for him in this clip because he looks like he's trying to just make it through this overly excited fan, ha!

Never realized he became so whacked in the head. Even blames GL.

That is complete and utter BS. Don't blame others for your bad life decisions. You make it a point to get past those decisions and make yourself a better person. When it's really bad you seek professional help and continue on a path to betterment. Lucas didn't ruin him, his decisions ruined him. Yes he was abused by the public, yes that sucks ass but it's still not an excuse.

He could probably have made some good money doing conventions and thus prove all the critics wrong but he just sort of buckled. I agree Hayden was terrible in these movies and the few things i've seen him in he comes off as likable and a good actor.

Some of the best actors in the world stank up the theater in those movies.

As for the kid, I kind of feel bad, and kind of don't. On one hand, you really can't expect a kid to cope with that in a rational way, it's just a kid. They don't really do rational in the face of teasing.

On the other hand, your big tragedy was that you had to be Anakin ****ing Skywalker in Star Wars... I'm not exaggerating or using an idiom when I say that most of the guys here would actually literally trade a nut to swap childhoods.

Now Star wars Kid... Him I feel bad for. He got screwed.

I actually felt a little sorry for him years ago after the movie came out, and I saw him in a commercial for kids school clothes, and he was in the back of the bus waving with kind of a sad look about him as it drove away. I thought "He went from playing the boy that becomes Vader, and now is hawking school clothes to kids."
