The Walking Dead Strange Scenes

I think two of the strangest scenes on TWD was in the church scene when the dead were in there. Just sitting waiting for what I don't know but it was a really chilling sight. The other was when Merle was going to slow up The Gov and and the Woodberry Army when he was in the car and having a quite moment you see what looks like the Bald Zombie from Romero's 1978 Dawn Of The Dead... Now was that an in joke or what..?

Romero touched on it in a few of his movies that it seems like the zombies get stuck in a moment of their past life. Look at Dawn of the Dead in the mall, they're all going to work and shopping as if nothing happened. Sure it was a social commentary but it is also rather freaky. It makes you wonder if there is a spark of their minds left or worse their minds are intact and working but trapped withing the cannibalistic zombie body.

I know a lot of people aren't fans of Land of the Dead, but the zombie known as Big Daddy is another example of that, as he is still seen at the gas station/garage he apparently worked at before the dead began to walk. Bub from Day of the Dead still seemed to retain some information (saluting a soldier, using a phone, using a handgun).

All of the regular zombies from Warm Bodies was the same, they showed that all of the ones at the airport were wandering around almost as if nothing had happened and were walking to their terminals, I think that there even was a security guard there that continued to wave his metal detector wand at passing zombies. Then there the ones that had lost all of their humanity and turned feral, for lack of a better term, and no longer even looked human.

To be honest while zombies are scary enough the idea of you still being aware but not in control of your body is even more terrifying. You'd see yourself kill your friends and family and couldn't do anything to stop or warn them. I know there have been a few zombies in movies and tv that seem relieved when they're put down. A slightly off topic question: did they release the Walking Dead webisodes on dvd?
