The Walking Dead Season 3

Yeah, it's clearly widespread or there would be observation flights over infected area keeping an eye on the horde movements, carpet bombing particularly bad areas, long range HAM radio communication, etc.

This exciting, thrilling hour is an escape from my dull, pathetic excuse of a life:sick don't take that away from me Please!!!!!! Lol :behave <<< Killing Zombies.

I think the CDC guy did say it was a pandemic or something to that affect.

Several post-apocolyptic movies have established "Green Zones". Whether the main characters start there or end there depends on the story. Not everyone is a Mad Maxx scenario.

well, there was at least 1 sighting of a helicopter flyover,so theres that :D

also there seems to be a whole town of survivors in the next episode.

I have yet to talk with a fan of this show who can explain why zombie fiction is so popular when they all end exactly the same way. Everyone gets really defensive, but nobody can (or apparently is willing to) explain it.
You guys don't get tired of this? You know they all die badly, so really, what's the appeal of the genre?
Is it because you want a safe genre that you don't have to think too much about the implications of anything? If so, that's cool. We all have our mindless guilty pleasures, no harm in that. But why do fans of zombie stuff get so up in arms when anyone questions the genre?
I'll concede that they have done as good a job with the source material that anyone could do. I think it's a well-done show, but I just don't get why people are so easily pleased with the concept in general when you know how it's going to end and knew it from day one!

For me it's a study in human nature. The comics really get into it even more.

Some of my favorite fictions tell the same basic story but from a different perspective.

"Day by Day Armageddon" is written journal style about one man's story about the apocalypse. It's pretty amazing.

"Rot and Ruin" is pretty unique in that it tells the story several years post the apocalypse and what people are doing now in a world still filled with zombies. This book has safe communities of people, living. Showing what happens to people when the day the tech stops and you have to start from scratch. How the people who know a trade are the truly valuable and how the lawyers and accountants don't add up to much in that world.

So they don't really all end the same way.

If you know who it is, then why can't you wait to find out who it is? :)

More interested to see if my source was right:thumbsup. Great episode, with some great lines. Already much better than last season.

"We need to make a place for Carl to do....whatever he does these days"

So many good ones. Didn't Lori say "I am not the best Mother in the world"?:lol. And that line where she told Rick she would be okay with him killing the prisoners and he said "you say that now":lol

Full of win!

Moocricket, care to share who the grave belongs to? None of the forums I've been on seem to have any info on it that I can see.

Sorry missed this post. For those who want to know look below, others don't read. POSSIBLE SPOILER Below!!!!

The Dixon brothers father. Supposedly he was imprisoned and buried there.

Interesting that they spent the entire last season on Herschel's farm (fairly short in the comic) but have sped through all the settling in/prison inmate problems/Rick loses humamity stuff that went on forever in the book in only 2 episodes, and we're already getting to The Governor next week.

At this rate the whole prison/Westbury arc could be done by mid-season!

I think part of the whole Zombie thing is the fact that you can enjoy shooting things with guns, but it's okay because they are dead! :lol Other than that it is about how people survive, how the interact, how people change, etc. It's the same reason I like post apocalyptic movies (meaning after a nuke, not zombies.)

I for one, just like that they had Rick do what is common sense and kill that guy. Most shows would have him hang around for several episodes, when the characters should realize the guy will just cause problems eventually. I would have sent the one guy outside the gates the minute he tried to challenge them then give the rest the option to stay or leave. I'm not being bloodthirsty, but they have women and kids to think about.

If you go after Zombie flicks, may as well go after Action films, Horror films, Sci-Fi, adventure, etc. Nothing is original anymore and everything is predictable. Yet still I'll watch it all because entertainment is entertaining.

I'm one of the biggest Zombie nuts going and I'll keep watching it, good or bad.

I guess losing a LOT of their customers probably had something to do with it. :lol

It's not like they actually wanted to drop AMC, AMC just wanted too much. I guess that lots of lost subscribers trumps overpaying for a channel.

Not everyone on the RPF builds in foam and latex ... I've built/own several steel suits and there's, literally, hundreds of thousands of people just like me. Then you've got the "Resident Evil" Umbrella Corp. cosplayers (among others), airsoft & paintball players, military, police, preppers, etc.

You might be surprised by how many people own body armor. Whether or not they'd get to use it when the SHTF is another story.

There's also only one person driving each or their vehicles. The others are just siting there. They could've been making themselves useful. Besides whenever this group has too much downtime certain members are prone to stupidity or wandering, sometimes both. All I'm saying is give them a task and minimize the drama.

I agree, there would be a fair number of people with some sort of body armor, even if it isn't all that fancy or even all that protective against much. If you really think about, strong bite force or not, human teeth aren't all that sharp so it wouldn't take much to stop a zombie bite, I bet that a decent leather jacket would be decent protection against a zombie. Leather jackets and riding leathers would be pretty common form of anti-zombie armor; raid a Harley shop or a sport bike shop and you'd be set. Or, if you're in the right area, hit UD Replicas' workshop and/or warehouse and you could run around protected against zombies while dressed like Batman or Iron Man.
