The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

That was completely epic... The ninja women with the pet walkers blew my mind. Although I'm not quite sure what's to be gained by keeping them since they won't attack other walkers...

By keeping the zombies with her, and they not attacking her, she would not gain attention from other walkers

That's right. Basically, she keeps them near by due to their smell (much like how the characters have used dead corpses pulled on top of them to cover their smell in the show). And if any zombie noticed that she was different, she'd cut their heads off with rapid and deadly precision (a good example is in the comic, where she sees Hershel roaring by on a horse-drawn wagon. A zombie takes notice of her and she lops its head off before it can alter any others).

That article on Digital Spy mentioned that she was playing the part in the season finale, but didn't say she'd be continuing the role in season 3. Splitting hairs, I know, but the moth and chin shown did kinda resemble her and does not look like the girl who will be playing her next season.

Just my opinion, but maybe since she was a fan she did the part just for the end of the season. Much like Witwer went uncredited in the first episode.

All I have to say is MICHHOONNNEEEE!

And the girl playing her is perfect. I'm sure they'll give her dreads.

I have to say that entrance was near flawless.

well i wasnt quite happy with this finale
i have not read the comics, so its not due to that. see below
but first of all, right at the start, theres like 1000 walkers behind rick and carl, and we all know how noisy those guys are. still they dont notice them until after really late. that was the first thing that pissed me off.

also the zombies following the helicopter. so they heard the noise and just followed it. ever try to follow a helicopter? the sound wouldve been gone in like a minute max. so they are just blindly walking without any indication for sound, and randomly end up at the farm.

in the next shot, they showed the moon, which was about half way between half and full. and i though to myself they better not **** the moon up with the timing. well they did. at the end, one day later, in the last shot its a full moon.

also, the infinite shotgun thing, i hate stuff like that.

they killed off the unimportant characters, well meh.

rick revealing the big secret, that wasnt a secret at all to us. they shouldve at least done something more creative

lori getting pissed off about rick killing shane and carl taking down shane. pure idiocy.

rick all bossy, this is not a democracy anymore.

i liked the new girl, tho

over all, i thought it was meh. i like the show, but i didnt like this episode

Can anyone make a wallpaper of that scene where she's got the the sword with the two zombies standing behind her? Would make a cool background!

:thumbsupHow can someone with a broken neck move?

Or no pulse=no blood flow.

As far as alien viruses, only if it was a biological entity that moved through the whole body, giving it the ability to move. But that's just redonkcoulous...

I'll give you the second and third ones but broken neck =/= death or inability to move.
It depends on the location and severity of the break.
(that said, a break that would kill probably WOULD completely impede movement)
A friend of mine had his broken a few months back (well, last summer).
While swimming, someone jumped into the water and managed to land on his head, breaking his neck.
Now granted, Jon was VERY lucky and managed to not suffer any spinal cord damage but, it didn't kill him.
Now if the bones had moved a bit more or had the break been higher up the spine, yeah, he probably would have been paralyzed or died.

(in general)
I'm going to echo whats already been said too. So far, the comics haven't given a cause for zombification.
Heck, call it the next step in evolution for all I care. It just IS.

They were showing the herd mentality of the walkers. A walker that sees or hears something that might be food starts heading in that direction. It doesn't matter if the noise stops, it still goes in that direction. Once set in motion it'll head in that line of direction until it finds someone to eat, or something else gets it's attention. Worse, other walkers that see a walker moving in that direction will then start moving in the same direction. Then you get hundreds, thousands, moving in the same direction until they make a herd of walkers that can swam over locations. Get a large enough group, and then they'll spread out enough that eventually one will see something or hear something and then move in that direction, dragging the rest along with it.

still doesnt change the fact that they randomly went to the same direction as the farm was, just by chance. a little too random for me :/

Yea, the didn't "follow" the helicopter. It was an explanation of how a herd forms. They hear a noise follow it for a little, other see them, follow them, so on and so on, and it grows. Anyone who's read the comics would be familiar with it as the do a pretty good job of explaining it. Great episode. Loved the revelation of the prison and the introduction of Michonne. Loved Ricks taking charge. Didn't understand Lori's problem, but hey, they're under a lot of stress. I'll just go with it.

Can we agree that next season, whoever starts the thread, puts in that it is just to discuss the show. I'm tired of the "not to bring up the comic", "... in the comic". Call it keeping the thread on track, or whatever you want to call it, The "anal" Walking TV show thread, just stop with comic chat. You want to talk about the comic, start your own comic book thread.

That said, I wish Rick had shot Lori when she pulled away.

I'm so glad they cast the Governor too, if he's half as bad assed as he was in the comics it's going to be a definite improvement in story from this season.

Nail on the head. Walkers follow helicopter, helicopter could be flying in the direction of the farm and then fly elsewhere. Now the walkers will follow it till something else gets their attention. For all we know without showing it, they could of run into survivors, maybe even Randall's group who took off and they followed. Then they ran into Bambi who took off like a bat out of hell. Cue gunshot and finding herschels farm.

.

It's not like people are here specifically here talking about the comic and ignoring the show. It's a TV show based on a comic book. People are going to discuss the similarities and differences. If you don't like it, why not start your own thread?

Also the OP should change the title of the thread to Walking Dead Discussion or something like that

You know what I can't believe? There are people over at the IMDb saying that Michonne showing up is the show's jumping the shark moment and that her slicing through the zombie attacking Andrea, in addition to having the two zombies with her, was "farfetched" and "unrealistic." I'm like, "You're watching a show about zombies. How is she slicing the head off a zombie farfetched, yet the show dealing with zombies on a regular basis not farfetched?" and "the way they introduce her in the show is almost exactly the same way they introduce her in the comics, the exception is that they have her saving Andrea's life as the first interaction to any members of the group, while it was Hershel whom she saved in the comic as her first interaction."

Seriously, I can't believe some peoples logic.

Wouldn't a broken neck basically render him useless?

As already mentioned yes and no. My neck was broken at the end of 2010 when an idiot carelessly ran his car into mine. I was so white hot with anger and adrenalin yet trying to keep cool that I got out of my car and pulled his fender out from between the front tire and the engine bay so he could move it off the road to stop blocking traffic, with a broken neck. It wasnt till sitting in front of the computer a couple hours later reserving a rental car so I could go right back to work that pain set in and I couldnt move from the chair for a good few days.

The chick with the sword and chained zombies came off as extremely far fetched and removed from the setting of the show. It was shot totally wrong from a viewers stand point. It was shot as a fantasy/sci fi introduction and not on the same "real life" type setting the show is set in. Just a terrible introduction.
