The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

When I look at this there is something very Darth Maul about it. Not sure what but I got that feeling when I saw the show as well. I think she is going to be a great cast addition myself and I didnt think how she was introduced was messed up.

My only problem with the entrance of her and you can even see it in the pic I posted is they did a bad job at CGI'ing the persons face. The shadows look too black all over. It looks like they loaded it up in MS Paint and clicked the fill paint bucket and chose black.

Interesting character - does she wear a dark ski mask in the comics or is the lighting just for dramatic effect for TV? I thought it curious that they showed a close up of her "face" last night and there was just a dark void.

Michonne in that scene was just a standin portraying her, that wasn't actually the actress they cast to play her. Since the standin probably doesn't have the same facial features she does, they blacked out with shadows everything under the hood. For all we know the standin was Caucasian even.

You know what, I've come to realize why everyone hates Michonne's first appearance. And it's not because of how "farfetched" it is, or how "fantasy/scifi" it is either. In fact, I created a motivator poster image about it...

Just kidding with you guys. I figured I'd post this here for a laugh (yes, I did make it).

She's badass in the comic, she's likely to be badassed in the show. The problem with Rick and the rest of the survivors is that the writers on the show turned them into idiots to generate false drama when the comic had plenty enough already with people who acted more intelligently.

Well I suppose I'll weigh in with my oppinion about the "comic people" vs "show people" debate. I'm sorry. But whenever I read a sentence starting with "Well, in the comic..." I can't help but read it picturing them speaking with their eyes shut, looking up, with an upward inflection in their voice. (Kind of like the SouthPark episode about hybrid cars. lol) And it may be stereotyping but I kind of feel like the majority of them are just dead set on making sure that everybody knows they liked TWD befor TWD was "cool".... It's like gooood we get it... You found it first.... That being said, I really have no room to talk. Seeing as I get totally butthurt and turned off every time I hear one of my favorite Indy bands on the radio... lol

As someone who never read the comic, I guess my only legitimate gripe about hearing about the comic is that I don't like being spoiled... I hated finding out Shane dies weeks befor it happens in the show. Or that Carl was supposed to do it. Because while watching that epic scene in the back of my head, I was waiting for Carl to inevitably come into the story. Or learning all of these things about Michonne (sp?) now instead of next season, the way the producers intended it. But even this I can't really complain about, since it is 100% in my control. Ya know that saying... If you can't stand the heat, you should probably leave this thread... Or somethin like that lol

Michonne back story will be to in a upcoming issue of Playboy.

Also in the news is that Playboy Magazine is teaming up with The Walking Dead by publishing a six page back story of how the amazing Michonne became such a kick-ass brawd. If you don't know what Playboy Magazine is I wouldn't blame you, see it's a nudie magazine for people that don't realize there is this thing called the internet, where porn can be found for free. Oh, those old people they are so adorable.

The origin of Michonne will be told by Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard in six pages, and printing in next week’s issue of Playboy. - Bleeding Cool

On the other hand, you really can't rely on what us comic geeks say about what happens in the comic directly translating to the show. So far the show is only following the comic loosely. I mean look at how long Shane lasted. I'm sure he would of kept going If Darabont hadn't been **** canned and started LA Noir. Even mazzara said last night that they were gonna kill off Herschel this season, but last minute decided to let him live.

It's pretty likely the only reason Dale died is the actor was a personal friend of Darabont who wanted out of the series after Darabont got fired.

The most unrealistic thing about Michonne is how she found a katana that is durable enough, isnt' just a wall hanger, to actually stand up to repeated use. In the comic she finds it in a teenager's bedroom? I doubt he'd have a battle usable katana in a high schooler's bedroom. But I can look past that minor detail.

Could happen. I have the Katana given to me by my grandfather when I was 12 all these years, and have no intention of getting rid of it.

I have a Shinwa sword that is pretty damn sharp and durable. My friend slapt at it one time without looking to see what it was and cut his wrist pretty bad. It only ran me about 130 bucks and its pretty good quality, it feels heavy enough to take off someone's head.

Did he take it as a war prize during WW2? Do you know how many are out there, damned few. If it was a true war blade then yeah, it could probably lop off a few heads. The point being, rare and far between so the chances of her running into one would have been slim. Again, I can look past that as a nitpick, I just hope they give a good story to how she found it rather than on a teen's bedroom wall.

A quick search of a few sites shows that it's still a glorified wall hanger. You might get a head or two before the blade snaps. Weight doesn't matter, it matters how well the blade flexes and how well it retains an edge. Plus, you don't hack at people with a katana, you strike with more of a cutting motion.

True, a good tang is a must. I think a good example of how a good katana can flex is the katana they used in a Mythbusters episode on their spinning/swinging robot. I can't remember the exact myth they were busting, but you can see how the blade of the katana practically bent to a 90 degree before returning to the original shape.

Yea it's a WW2 blade. Just your comment made me start thinking I had just the thing for the Zombie apocalypse. :) Looking forward to season 3......

I'd hold onto it very tightly. That sucker could be worth some money and probably is getting to be very rare. I don't know if they are being very quick to recover WW2 blades, but I have heard that it's now very difficult to get true historical katanas outside of the Japanese border.

Edit: Looks like it's mostly the really old ones, not including WW2. It wouldn't surprise me that in another 50 years they might include WW2 though.

Was that Merle flying the helicopter? J/K Speaking of Merle, if he's alive and finds the group, I can imagine one of three scenarios for him. He cuts off Rick's arm, or cuts off T-Dawg's arm, and if he was the ultimate badass, cuts one arm off each of them. Oh, using a saw of course.

I have a feeling that the new swordswoman on the show is really going to make an impact on the entire cast.

Not that I'm into romance stuff, I could see her hooking up with Daryl (the white/black thing, something his brother wouldn't approve of, kind of forbidden love thing), Carol getting jealous, T-Dawg thinking she should hook up with him. So, plenty of love drama for the people who like that stuff.

Having her unarmed, jawless(?) companions in the camp won't go over well. However, I think that its a great way to disguise the scent of "fresh meat". Especially traveling alone.

She probably has seen or endured worse things then the group, so she most likely has some mental problems, but who in the show doesn't have issues.

Carl, if he survives, is going to be one messed up adult. Can't stand him though. He lacks discipline.

Lori, ugh, Rick should have just shot her. She's going to continue the way she is. If she has the baby, it will probably remind her of Shane, even if it doesn't look like him. Male or female, I don't think it matters, but I bet it will be a girl to be opposite of Carl.

Daryl as a character rocks. Hopefully they'll do something with T-Dawg.
