I'll confess, in this fictional world, once I got my "base" situation set up, built up a decent armory/ammo supply, chow, med supplies, and other logistical "stuff", I'd be going out on clearing missions. Hopefully pick up a few non-Walker, real human, military types and have a good old time sweeping up and clearing out that Walker situation.
if you think about the sheer number of walkers, even if you had the enough ammo for a military base, youd run out of ammo fairly quickly. no rapid fire machine gun is gonna last for days after a endless wave of walkers. your ****ed.

In any case, you don't have to kill them; you just have to outlast them.
Do people that die from natural causes become walkers? Or is it just normal people that get bit become walkers?
Basically what I'm asking is if no one is bit to become infected and the walkers are gone, is it over and back to normal for the regular people that survived?

That is a good question if the whole thing resets to normal if all of the walkers are gone. Well and if the infection has been eradicated. I have not heard of the everybody is infected scenario. But with zombie lore anything and everything is possible.
I hope they eventually adress on the show how long it takes for the brain to decompose and render the walkers...really, truly, dead.
