The Walking Dead Season 2 Trailer

Yeah, I believe he says the same thing in the comics. He probably figures to keep feeding them lest they "starve" to death.

The severe necrotic tissue over the entire body, lack of certain automic functions (like a heartbeat and other major organ functions) and just the smell doesn't seem to clue him in on the fact that these people are more than likely not alive?

^That and he is a little crazy. All those events happening, combined with the loss of your wife and some loved ones. Hard to say what snapped in Hershel.

I've been lurking on this thread a little...

Rick has to be over-the-top, passionately emotional in every single conversation it seems....

Ive actually seen this reaction first hand in people ive been both close to and didnt know personally. When they are hiding something they cant let out for any number of reasons whether it be ego, financial, depression... its a pressure pot that builds and builds till it explodes. When the person is busy on auto pilot doing what they do which leaves the mind to function on tasks that dont allow thoughts to wander into the boiling pot. But anything that stirs that pot steam is let off.
If you ask me, this is one of the better continuing character plots as its gone mostly unquestioned till now. Rick better go kick a puppy and drown some kittens or someone is going to get hurt.

interesting - that did not occur to me.
Well, if that could be the case, crud - I'll feel guilty for griping about the guy :lol
But, we'll prolly never see him snap....however, a good, fall-to-the-knees, uncontrollable cry might do him character some good. if we didn't see that when Carl got shot; prolly won't.

I broke down and read that spoiler for next week's episode.

I must have missed something - thought I heard it called a mid-season finale? What is that? Taking a break for a month or something?

Ive not read any spoilers but I do hope Rick snaps.

As far as "mid season finale", its all about hype. It also can work negatively and kill the fanbase or simply take the wind out of its sails. A major mistake made in the entertainment industry these days is forgetting the instant gratification that modern society demands. I believe a "series" is six episodes in the UK where here in the states its 12 and up on average. In other words, dont be surprised if you see the first half of season two on DVD this holiday.

I read somewhere that the break was partly to do with football season. Didn't want to make people choose between watching the show or watching the game and potentially loosing viewers for the last half of the season. Not necessarily true of course but, interesting theory.

Anything is a theory but the old sports one is always hilarious. A tv show thats on at 9pm and repeated twice after in one Sunday night hasnt got sports to worry about. AMC doesnt broadcast sports so the over time excuse is also invalid. Its all about money.

I would like to know why are they wasting all that ammo? when Shane went with Otis to get supplies they didn't have enough now there's enough to waste on having everyone shoot targets and why are they wasting all those chickens on Walkers? all those Chicken dinners wasted, Lol.

Otis and Shane ran out of ammo because there's only so much a person can carry. There's a difference between what a person can carry and what the whole group has.

And about the chickens, again, Hershel thinks that they're living people who are infected with something, not that they are dead people. You only see it as a waste because you have the sense to know that they're dead. When you look at it from Hershel's point of view, they're still human beings, but they're just sick.

Well, if you look at the situation that Otis and Shane were in, they had to limit the space of the bags they were carrying so they could be able to carry the baby bear respirator and the other necessary medical supplies they needed to snag. So, the only other places you could easily carry ammo and still have access to it on the run is your pockets, so that's even limited.

Dont forget when talking ammo, shotgun shells and small arms ammo is rather light compared to assault and long rifle ammo. You can make anything viable into a make shift dump bag for shotgun shells. Being low on ammo progressed the script.

Tell you what... load up a bag, throw it on your back and start running. Let us know how far you get. ;)
