Hi , im new here and just started my first project. Im trying to recreate i tiefighter i found laying around on. I bought it in New york 8 years ago in a toy store and back then it looked cool. Now its time for a complete make over , and i just started today.
:)
First of im going to disembel the whole thing , then clean it and then spray it with black paint. Then its time to start painting.

This is how far i have come on the tiefighter ..
( sorry for the spelling , im from sweden ) :D

I would suggest reworking the wings to proper scale. This looks like the hasbro/kenner tiefighter.

I know they retooled it a year or two ago so the wings were the sufficient size, because they used the same scale as the toys in the 70s-80s.

Kind of looks like the bobble head of tie fighters without the proper wing size, if you can find a template to scale the wings from that would be good, you could even use part of that wing so you can still plug your new wing in. Construction with styrene and wire mesh would propably work best.

I have several versions of hasbro tie fighters but i'm at UWM right now so I can't post the correct dimensions. When I get home i'll measure it up

Oki , but it kind of looks propper to me , i dont know if i dont have a keen eye on this but thx for the tip.
The Tiefighter has already been based colord black so im going to start with the paintjob tomorrow, i will post pics during the process.

Those are the retooled wings. The Kenner ones were more squat.

Although sorta close, the Kenner/Hasbro toy isn't studio scale, so I'm moving the thread. :)

Done some progress today , but im going to paint it to night.
But here are some pictures :

I think those are the old ones :p Look at the last pic .

Yeah , thought so to when it were in black , looks kind of cool . But i started the painting now so. But i was thinking about making the tie fighter into a wallmount. If i printed out a picture of the death star , then put the tiefighter in front of it.
It should look like the tie fighter is coming out of the deathstar. Kind of like a painting.

This is how far i have come with the base color
Tips and tricks are appricated , the problem is how im going to do with the weathering , or if it should the new :

Cool. I'm from Sweden too :)

It looked cruel in black, completely badass. Specops or something :)
It's definately the old Kenner/Hasbro wings, not the remodelled ones...

Also, there are other inconsistencies to this one apart from the wings so instead of aiming for screen-accuracy, just make it a sweet and cool replica.

Yes that was my thougt exactly , im thinking about just doing a cool wall mount or something with it. I hope you all will enjoy it when its done.
