Anyone else getting excited to see the return of Lost for it's final season?

I can't wait to see more. I'm wondering if it will begin with the Oceanic flight landing this time, in some sort of alternate time line.

Looking forward to it, but I really doubt that any of the timeline will have changed. Everytime the characters think they are doing something different you find out that it was supposed to happen. All the losties did was create the "incident" at the swan station that had been talked about most of the show.

It'll be interesting to see what happens to Jacob. His followers where saying that Lopidus (pilot) was a good canidate for something; perhaps a new body for Jacob?

I lost interest a few years ago. It upset me that they had 7 brand new episodes that didnt start off where the previous season ended aka Desmonds girlfriends search crew. They were just fillers..Than we had to wait a couple months more for new episodes..I gave up during that proccess.

Also, what happened to desmond? He was one of my favorite characters.

I cannot wait for this show to start. I just cracked through the Season Five DVD and I'm so pumped for S6 I can't even tell you.

We also wont be seeing Elizabeth Mitchel. So I will set teh DVR and watch the final season, but the thrill is gone.

Yeah, it's just too damn long between seasons. I guess I don't know exactly why they do this. I've read things mainly pointing to the cost/time it takes to shoot the episodes. VERY expensive and time consuming, thus long breaks between seasons.

I don't even remember what happened last season, that's why it pisses me off. I'm sure we'll get the obligatory catch up episode like we always get before a long break. And we'll probably get to see the last episode the day or hour before.

I'll probably watch only because I've invested my time thus far. I'm sure a lot of people will be pissed off about how this thing ends. The faithful followers that come back every year after ridiculously long breaks will expect nothing less than to be blown away by the ending. Anything short of a mind-blowing ending will **** me off, I know that.

With Lost's foreshadowing, I wonder if this "Last Supper" imagery implies Syed will 'betray' Locke in some fashion. Syed is 2nd to Lockes right, which is where Judas sat. Unless you count Sawyer then that would make Kate in the Judas chair.

I'm friggin' hyped. I read somewhere that the ending made Matthew Fox cry. I love Lost severely- it's odd because I don't want it to end, but at the same time I want it to end perfectly and soon since I don't want more questions raised.

Just finished watching S5 again last weekend, can't wait for S6. Staying spoiler-free.. that's the best way to enjoy this show.

The sad part is? After S6, it'll be over! :(

For some strange reason I never got into watching LOST but back during the summer I started streaming it from Netflix and finally finished with Season 5 last week. I absolutely love it and I can't wait till it returns!!

I'll be really pissed if Desmond's not in it. Hands down my favorite character. I can't say I wouldn't watch it if he's gone because of the time invested, as mentioned earlier, but I'd really be unhappy about it.

I can't wait until it finally starts and gives the answers people want to see. There is a piece in Entertainment Weekly and the producers say something like all the important questions will be answered. There is another version of that pic where everyone is looking at Locke. I'm not sure what that is supposed to men. It should be a great final season.

I actually find that quite comforting. All good stories should have an end, not just be milked for more corporate profit, even if the fans clamor for more.

SPOILER*****

I ends with Bobby Ewing in the shower looking back over his shoulder and saying "good morning"

Have you seen that the Lost fans have started a petition to either have ABC not show the State of the Union or to get the president to change the date of it so that it doesn't conflict with the show's premiere? While no date for the speech has been announced, it's always a tuesday and they're betting it'll be 2/2 and they're trying to avoid being bumped, even a day...

Gotta love that kinda passion :)

As for why it's so long between seasons, it's something the producers wanted. They hated the way ABC handled the first season with a few new episodes to start the year, then a couple reruns, then after new years, it was like one or two new, one or two reruns til may. They initially wanted what they got in season two. 6-7 new episodes in a row, then a break without reruns, then run the final 15 or so in a row. People hated the november-march break, so they went with the 24 scheme of running the entire season back to back, start to finish. No breaks, no reruns. It also gave them the benefit of a more defined shooting schedule which helped all involved since they could schedule single trips to hawaii to shoot, or make arrangements to do other things in their 'offseason', but it wasn't the cause of back to back stuff.

I haven't thought about it much, but I'll watch it when it comes on.

I too was really into it at first, but then the frustration drove me crazy. The show has too many dropped subplots and too much forgotten foreshadowing for me to get emotionally involved in trying to solve anything. So while I'm interested in what happens to the characters, I have detached myself from caring about them.
