The Prop Store pulse rifle vid

Has anyone of our american friends ever actually taken a Thompson gun and a remington and made a pulse rifle out of them?
I bet it would be still cheaper than many replicas out there... and you can shoot blanks the same way the original ones did.

A Thompson is a $1000. A remington 870 can be had for as little as $200 if you check pawn shops. They're both short barreled so they'd require special papers and a tax stamp of $200.

That'd put it at about $1600 and you'd still have to pay for the rest of the parts.

And if you want a machine gun, be prepared to fork out upwards of $20000 just for the Thompson.

I'd still love to do it someday but my wallet wont be able to handle that anytime soon. :(

Oh right, I forgot they cannot be automatic, is that right? Sorry I live in Europe where all sorts of arms are illegal... automatic, short barrel, long barrel... pop guns (see UK)

And yet $1600 (imagining that the rest of the parts are free although they are not) seems to be near the level of high quality replicas.

Perhaps with some luck a $2000 version could be possible, laws allowing it.
What about blank firing ones?? Those will do the trick too (and they would be screen accurate) ... gee even cap firing ones would be great to see in action! (better than the new sound and lights system they use at Alien Wars this year!)

From model-guns website a Thompson is about $600-700, shotguns are around the same price. They are quite loud too. I'm surprised no one has tried it yet.
I simply don't have time, money, skills or enough interest to actually try it myself... but I'm surely dying to see something like that happening ... and see some videos of it on youtube

I am wondering, what is the legal ability to hang on to that prop?
It clearly could fire full auto real rounds.

Are they going to auction it off?

I mean it gets real complicated I would imagine.

Sad thing is, after seeing that vid, nothing less than that would scratch the pulse rifle itch for me. LOL

I was one of the first people to notice that video when it was first put on a long time ago. I remember the description (now deleted) said that the rifle in question was being filled with lead in order to comply with the "new" law on firearms in United Kingdom.

The video was taken just before the rifle was made unusable. Lucky guy who tried it for the last time. Thanks Her Majesty!

That PR was legally deactivated after that video was shot (it was shot at Bapty). It has been rendered un-bug-huntable.
