The next release of the Tomenosuke Blaster from Blade Runner

I am the one who works for HCG. The company did not "send me in here to make things right", as I read on propsummit.
I have been s member here longer than working for HCG. I just read a few issues and asked people to contact customer service. That is the limit of my power at that company. I work in the art department and have nothing to do with shipping or customer service.... but I am trying to help when I see the chance.
Unfortunately our hand are tied when Tonenosuke, who makes these, states they cannot do anything as the gun photos look "as intended". Please understand that this is a Tomenosuke item. HCG just made a deal to be the world wide distributor. If Tomenosuke says they won't replace parts, then the only option is to return the piece to HCG and just get a refund. You could try to buy another but if that finish is not to your liking and the factory is producing them this way, then you will just get another piece you are not happy with. I am sorry this happened and that you are not satisfied, but unless Tomenosuke decides to change their mind, then HCG is stuck.

I missed the post over there that said you were sent in to make things right. I believe it was stated that you were not happy about these issues either and were trying to help get replacements.

Again if I misunderstood I apologize.

I can not speak for anyone else but I will be cancelling my order as there is no way I am dropping a grand for this result.

Thanks

Absolutely, if you are not happy you can get a refund or avoid placing an order. Surprisingly many do not see that much of a finish difference and the lighting has a lot to do with showing it in photos. I pulled out a couple guns at work after we got his message and it wasn't as drastic as the photo made it look.

What about the rubbing marks on the slide?? That is my biggest concern?

Talk about a headache today. :lol
Apparently a person over on Propsummit got a reply from customer service that they didn't like, the pitch forks have been passed out, and somehow I have been the go to guy for them.

I think I am done dealing with this and if contacted by PM, I will just kindly direct people to contact HCG customer service. I have literally been dealing with messages all day and this is my day off. I don't own the company and do not have any say outside of my 9-5 hours working there. I am not asked to field questions for them on here and I am not a spokesman for the company here. I am an RPF member who just happens to work there, 5 days a week... 8 hours a day.

I come on here in my free time as an RPF member and this is supposed to be fun time. I am not asked by the company to address anything here and I basically do it just because I do not like seeing people spend money and not be happy. So I tried to address the big issues I saw earlier on a few pieces. That has now snowballed into people contacting for the tiniest issues, and when I direct them to customer service and they do not get an answer they do not like, they come right back to me.

So I think I need to step away from that responsibility that I have seemed to bestow upon myself by trying to help out.

As far as any blaster issues: I will state this one last time.... the blaster is a Tomenosuke product. HCG facilitated the run as they agreed to do world wide distribution. If there are issues with the piece, HCG is the middle man to contact Tomenosuke and ask them to look at photos and make decisions. If Tomenosuke says they won't do anything, then HCG cannot do anything. The only thing HCG can do is accept the return and refund the customer to make them happy. They bought the item through HCG, so HCG is responsible for returns and refunds. I read on Propsummit, people like Jameth and Mark Raats slamming HCG for the lack of quality control and the way they treated customers because they wouldn't ship new parts, etc... yet everyone seems to forget that this is a Tomenosuke item and HCG has no control what-so-ever over the quality control. We receive these from Tomenosuke and if there are issues we have to call them to sort it out.

But from this point, I think when it comes to this board, I do not work for anybody, and I am just another member. Lol. I an not a spokes person for the company and I just want to get back to the days where I could enjoy being part of the community and not the go to guy for questions about things. Those questions can be sent directly to customer service on the web site.

Hope everyone can understand my position? And thanks for your understanding. ;)

Moviefreak thank you for all your contributions to this thread. You have gone above and beyond what is expected.

It reminds me when I used to do the landscaping at a retirement home. 99% of the people were always happy with the work, but there were always the same recurring people who would find something insignificant or bizarre to complain about. Like the one guy who claimed I had ruined his summer by cutting the grass too short or the woman who maintained the exhaust from our lawn tractors were killing her trees.

Four more payments until I get mine and I couldn't be more excited.

Moviefreak what a shame it came to this! Anyone taking the time to read your posts properly would know you were just trying to help out where possible and by no means responsible for the outcome. For which 99.9% of us are incredibly grateful for all you've done! Pity about the 0.1% who took that as an invitation to have a go at you.

So from the 99.9%... thanks bro! You're a flippin legend. :)

Don't get me wrong... I do not blame anyone who drops $900+ and has an issue with an item. You spend that kind of money and your better get what you want. I really do not blame anyone for wanting to address that, however, it makes it hard to be put in the position of "middle man for the middle man". I say that because I become the middle man between the customer and HCG, and HCG is the middle man to the manufacturer. :lol
But I really do understand and appreciate the customers concerns, it is just so hard when HCG has to go ask manufacturer what they can do for the customer and the response is "nothing". That put HCG in a bad light and bad position. Like I said, the only thing HCG can do in that instance is accept the return and refund the customer their money. But often that isn't enough for a customer and they take to the forums to shed the worst possible light on the company who is stuck in the middle. That is frustrating and that is why I need to just excuse myself from getting involved. I have even edited out many of my comments in this thread so Future people reading this will not see me answering things and assume I am the one to go to, lol. Coming on forums has become less fun and more about the fear of what I might read or who might have PM'd me, :lol.

When your passion becomes your work, right?

Thank you for shedding light on the situation, though. I think a majority of the people who ordered these didn't know that Tomenosuke has been the manufacturer the whole time.

Yes... hard to separate work and home life at times:lol

HCG facilitated the new run and secured exclusive distribution and but they are not personally manufacturing them . That was why the the HCG name was prominently displayed across the front of the box. ;)

Yeah I would have thought most members here were fully aware of the situation. Heck, there's enough info posted on here to write a Bladerunner Blaster encyclopedia! Lol.

I just wanted to update on my issue. At no time did I message anyone here. I was told to come over here to post to possibly get a little help. I just wanted to show there seems to be a problem with their QC at this time. HCG is in no way responsible for this issue. They are just a retailer selling a product. I spoke to them on the phone twice and they have been nothing but polite and understanding. I did my best to work with them to find a positive resolution to this issue. I even explained I was never upset with them but as they are the only option I have to resolve the issue, I need to work with them directly.

At the end of the day, Tomenosuke has reached a point where they realize they have a product that will just sell so quality doesn't matter. The last response I got from HCG after they tried to help me was that Tomenosuke said to just return it. This falls directly on them since there attitude is if you don't like our poor workmanship, too bad.

Terrible policy. I just wish they would just make more kits. I can finish it myself much better.

I am so sorry to hear this. I really wish HCG could do more, but we are just stuck watching this happen and frustrated that we can do nothing more than just offer a refund :(
thahk you for your understanding.

Hmmm. I'm starting to get cold feet. I still have two more payments left. What are the chances I get "regifted" one of the returned blasters?

You would not get a returned blaster. Anything with quality issues is sent back to the factory and taken out of sales. We only sell the stock we have in hand and are now doing hand inspections and going over them before we ship out the door.
