The New Friday the 13th Mask...

I don't think it's that special. Not very artistic in my mind. I would prefer to see something more classic but original at the same time.

I have been wondering and hoping. I had asked a couple people from the prop dept. and they couldnt tell me. All they said was it WAS a hockey mask.
 
The reaction here is interesting. At another forum with tons of friday the 13th hockey mask gurus, around 95% of people are NOT impressed.

I can relate it to the Revenge of the Sith Darth Vader helmet.

By the way, the mask changes A LOT from film to film. Far less subtle than helmets from a star wars movie or warfs make up from star trek or something LOL

Personally, I think I have a trained eye for jason masks..been with the hobby from the time of the first replicas to show up on the scene. I have also been quoted in magazine articles relating to Jason masks. So with that said, besides the shape being a recast of some other mask from the series, the only mask it bears resemblence with is the one from Jason Vs. Freddy.

But if this is a remake of the first film the killer was not Jason, and there was no mask...:p

Really, I do like it - they do all look similar to me, with just the markings color and location seeming to change. I need to get one from Part 3 (in 3D my favorite:love)
 
Glad they didn't change it soo much... I still think if they were gonna reboot the franchise, start with Mrs Voorhees, and Hopefully they wont make him too superhuman, more like pt 2-4
 
Allosaur..that mask in your signature is a fiberglass Gates of Hell studios part 8 hockey mask. Probably made by Shayne Snyders AKA the Cropsy Maniac in 2000-01 or so???

I've had a mask on order from him since March 2004 haha. I met him in Chicago. I felt bad and didn't say anything mean..probably should of

I had won this in an auction way back when he was still making these masks and not ripping people off.... Did you get a refund from him?
 
Nope never got anything. Maybe some day my mask will show up. Just stinks..100$ just to throw it away.

I feel bad for others way more. Some people ordered 1500$ worth of stuff. Apparently he still wants to make good.

At nightowl productions, we have a list of nearly everyone that ordered and what they ordered..so he knows what he owes.

If I made people wait a year for anything I'd do whatever it takes. He just doesn't seem to care anymore.

Gotta say as a HUGE horror fan and a member of the other board ioncannon speaks of, that I am not very impressed with it.

It supposed to be a remake going through the first 3 films basically in one sitting. The mask shown here is just a poorly made VS mask. The least favorite of the masks for me (next to the X Uber mask).

That being said I'm still pretty stoked about seeing the movie. At least they didn't hire Ken "the retarded lumberjack" Kirzinger to play him.

You can say they didn't mess with it but they really did. I know a few guys who could have made a mask 100X better for the film.
 
My favourite is still the part 3 mask (or part 4 mask, being the same mask with the slash).

Who is playing Jason then? Is that public knowledge yet?

The mask seems like a decent generalization of most all the other Jason masks. Nothing groundbreaking.

I still despise the remake idea.
