The "Name that movie quote" thread...

All these movies use that quote.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Star Trek: Voyager
Snoopy: The Musical
Death Hunt
Darling

I think we've come to a point where perhaps a rule clarification is needed. I would suggest that if you name a movie that the quote is in it counts whether it's the intended movie or not (provided you can prove it's a quote from the film you say it is).

Should help us move through vague quotes.

What say you guys?

I felt the Snozzberries quote was very obviously from Wonka... it's obvious Super Troopers was using it as a quote/homage. If that poster didn't realize that, he should've done a little research.

So, I second Mr. Blend's clarification.

Well seeing as I am the cause of said obvious null research then I'll bow out and enjoy your game. No rules were clarified and I didn't see it as a problem.

And the other part of that quote is my precious. Bit more obvious now.

There was no problem! We just needed clarification, not your fault. :):thumbsup

In the case of Wonka v. Troopers if I had posted the quote and someone guessed Super Troopers under these rules it would be good. :thumbsup

There are many quotes shared by multiple films. You just pointed out that we needed a clarification.

As far as the game goes your addition to the quote means it's clearly LOTR... But which film? :love

Return of the King?

I think the spirit of the game is to have a quote that's particular to a movie... we could could put any number of words together, ie "oh my god" and have it belong to many movies...

My feeling is being indirect with small phrases like "my darling" is just too short and too vague and too indistinguishable and while technically may be a movie quote, it's a quote that belongs to many movies. Is the next clue going to use the quote "the"?

Let's not be coy, let's play in the spirit of the game.

Rightio, coming off a long shift so probably my fault anyway for not thinking it through. And OB yes it was ROTK so its all yours :)
