The Mummy

I'm just about to start work on making a replica of The Book of The Dead (the black one) from "The Mummy"....haven't yet decided if it's going to open, or just be a non-opening static piece. However, I want to be as accurate as possible, and am not sure of the dimensions. Does anyone know just how big that book is?

Is it a kit you're building, or a scratchbuild?

Not sure on the dimensions, but I can post pics of mystatic prop later...

Got this from an Ebay aution in 2002 from Premiere Props:

Book of the Dead Measures app. 13" x 14-1/2" and is 3" thick made of hollow cast resin.

This is going to be scratchbuilt...I wish I had a kit, but I've decided I'd rather just do the work myself. Not really sure just yet HOW I'm going to do it...carved out of wood, or clay sculped over a foam core...but it should be a challenge at the least.

Wow...it's just about the size I was estimated by watching the movie. This is gonna be interesting.
