I guess the Wachowskis must be desperate for getting some more money. They probably thought they were going to be living off the revenue from The Matrix for the rest of their lives.

Would be nice if they could right the course, say have Neo wake up and say "Whoa...what a horrible, horrible dream". Thus doing away with the crapfest of a third movie.

lol. i agree with mooCriket. I would like to see one more film to tie everything together and leave it less open ended. That third movie seemed like it was made simply as a lead in to the matrix online.

No kidding. It's yet another of those instances where I've got the first movie my collection but I actively try to ignore the existence of the "sequels."

Hey, sure. Go for it. Not like they can make it any LESS interesting than the second one. And yeah, futuristic Robin Hood starring Will Smith. Sure. Let's greenlight that, too. You know what? While we're at it, we should also spend tens, if not HUNDREDS of millions of dollars on a remake of Manimal, and have it star Michael Cera.

I have been and will continue to be a vocal supporter of the entire Matrix Trilogy (the entire transmedia property, for that matter) so this is fantastic news for me. I think they are some of the most intellectually stimulating movies ever made, and I hope that the ambitious ground covered in the first three are further explored if this ever gets made.

That being said, the minute I read this, I could predict more than half of the negative responses already posted in this thread. Years of debate regarding these movies has conditioned me to expect this kind of reaction. :lol

+1. I wouldn't go so far as to say the sequels were bad films, but IMO they weren't nearly as thought-provoking as the first film.

I didnt hate the second 2. I just really don't care for a movie if I don't understand the characters' motivations. As in Matrix 2, The merovingian. I don't understand what he was up to. I also didnt like that he saved Trinity just to have her die in the third. Also thought the film needed a voice-over epilog. Just didnt quite get it.
