The Mandalorian blaster

Hi all,
I wanted to show a new addition to my blaster collection. This is the pistol from the new show The Mandalorian. :)
This is a 3D printed kit I picked up from a seller on Etsy. It's the first 3D printed kit I've ever worked on. Here's how the kit arrived.

It came with the real hardware shown, and even has a spring so the trigger and hammer are movable! Pew pew! :p
Prep was honestly kind of tedious and it took a while with filler primer and sandpaper to get rid of the print layers.

Assembly was pretty straightforward, and I painted the blaster with three shades of metallic acrylics. Here's a pair of overall shots.

The details on the kit are sharp and it was a lot of fun painting the worn metal effects.

The movable features are cool, but I don't anticipate running around blasting things in my house, lol.

Finally, here's a size comparison between this blaster and another well known bounty hunter's sidearm.

Can't wait for the show in November! I got to attend the Mandalorian panel at Celebration Chicago and the footage they showed looked excellent!
Thanks for looking.

Thanks!

Anyone who has more experience with prepping 3D printed items-- what are some good methods?
Anything easier than fill, sand, repeat?

It does look similar. Not sure exactly what they added to the base gun to transform it into a blaster.
The flash suppressor for sure. Possibly the grip frame and other small details.

Nice job. Im currently about to start on the rifle from the show. I found a free model on myminifactory, but that design has a round barrell. From what i can tell from the limited pics and footage that are about at the minute the barrell looks more of a hexagon shape (unless my eyes decieve me). It shouldn't be too hard to fix the model. That harder part will be sourcing a hexagonal bar around the correct diameter.

Looking at pics of original Bergmann pistols, they have round barrels. Of course, they added some different details to turn it into a blaster, but it doesn't appear that they changed the shape of the barrel.
