Limited Run The Mandalorian Blaster, screen accurate (TWO LEFT before)

As planned, most of the last few went out on Sunday. to Scarecrow Joe, qwkartist and TennantLim.

(The only one left to send is the one going to darkchylde80.)

Reminder (yet again): The normal transit time is about 2 weeks BUT with the current crisis, we need to allow 4-5 before we start worrying about something being lost. (Some postal services are now going by SHIP instead of plane, and that can add 1-2 MONTHS to delivery... but I wouldn't think that these fall into that category.) Mail is working, but slower. (As mentioned before, I got tracking for a randomly selected few of these to keep track of things and it looks like those still haven't left the country even though they were sent over a week ago. So yeah, delays!)

It feels great having them all in the mail. Now I can turn some attention to other, sorely neglected, projects for a bit!

Stay safe everyone!

Any timeline on the metal upgrade bits via shapeways? I have some money burning a hole in my paypal account lol.
I have to set up the ordering in their store. Shouldn't be too long now! (I also have to do a little writeup on assembly.)

Can't wait to see what everyone does with the kits!

THE FIRST ROUND OF KITS ARE IN THE MAIL!

Hatefrost
Kokanee
Funslayer
Teragon
boba flint

I should have a few more out during the weekend. With luck, they'll arrive within a couple weeks BUT please allow 4-5 in case there are postal delays.

This run has been great, but it will be a HUGE weight off my shoulders once they are all out. Thanks again to everyone for all the support.

(Oh, and once I get clear of a few things, I'll arrange access to those optional metal extras....)

Also... justinrowan is readying his awesome wood grips and has as thread up!

More soon!

Got mine today! It was a surprise because I hadn't been keeping up with the threat. Looks amazing!

Wow, that was a LOT faster than expected. Crossing my fingers that the others don't take too much longer, but I suspect delivery times will be all over the place at the moment. Some might arrive super fast, but others several weeks later if they get delayed at a depot somewhere. (I did also get word from a couple folks in the UK who got their copies as well.)

Glad to see more are arriving!

Also... for those of you adding electronics.... here's the correct blaster sound for it!

Mine just came in, don’t even know where to start [emoji58]
Wash it with soap and water. IF there is any residue of uncured resin (sometimes easy to miss in the nooks and crannies) rub it out with some alcohol or acetone (but DON'T drench it).

Wetsand down all the support points with 400 grit, then give the whole thing a good once-over with 800 grit if there are any artefacts or slightly visible print lines. (They are mostly so shallow on resin prints that regular primer fills them in, BUT specs of dust do occasionally get into the optical path...)

Test fit all the parts before gluing anything. You should not need to "force" anything... if something feels a little tight, smooth it down a little with 400 grit.

I recommend JB Weld "PLASTIC BONDER" (NOT "JB plastic welder") for best results but any good 2-part epoxy should do.

I would paint most, if not all, parts before assembly. There are some photos ion the build thread. I'll be posting more in the future.

Thank you! Is this something I should do right away? (The wash down) Or is it something that can wait?
It can wait.

Oh... one more thing.... don't store the kit in direct sunlight. Keep it in the box until you start working on it. Prolonged exposure to strong UV rays runs the risk of making it brittle. (There's no real worry leaving it out under non-UV light and once it's painted, there's no problem with UV either.)

Does anyone know of a fairly reasonable sound board option? blaster core looks nice, but I don't really want to spend $100 on a board when I only need it need to make one sound and power one LED...

I'm using the circuit board off a Nerf Glie 44 (Poe blaster). Check my build thread. You have to cut away some material for the battery holder to fit, but it's a dirt-cheap solution!

Teensy also do a standalone sound board option, but if you want a flashing LED, you need to hook it up to an arduino or something.

I received mine yesterday! It is a very, very impressive kit to say the least! If you're thinking about getting one, do it! It is the way!

Thinking an adafruit audiofx board might do the trick.
