Is the Saber Trades collaborating or aware of this run in anyway? Or do we just have to contact them separately on our own about the blade? I guess it would be nice if we could pre-order or get a few blades made to go along with the small run hilts. If we have contact them directly, no biggie, just want to be sure it's compatible off the shelf or any special instructions to be aware of.
The Saber Trade is aware that we want to use his design. We have talked with him about a way to implement the blade that works with our hilt and keeps his blade up to his standards.
Once we fill the list, we will ask who wants a blade now and who would like just a display piece. Then you will contact The Saber Trade and tell him you want a blade for Malibu's RPF darksaber hilt, and you will pay him for the blade.

Does anyone know how much the blades are?
I have been told by The Saber Trade his blades are $350, we believe they are the best darksaber blade out there.

Watching the thread with interest see how everything goes and falls into place. Like to see the finished hilt and one with a blade attached help make a decision. I am sure it will be an epic piece!

No we will just be selling the metal hilt on its own. You will have to buy electronics like the soundboard, battery, and speaker along with The Saber Trades Blade.
This is more of a DIY piece if you're looking for an FX saber or it can just be a display piece.

The next step of the process will be to 3D print the hilt and begin prototyping fitment with the blade and electronics. Once the new year turns over we will discuss more with the machine shop.
