Took a picture of the ring today and you can clearly see the odd iris blade part of the diaphragm as is there on the identified part!

These will be resin. The screen used prop looks painted, so I’m guessing it was plastic of some sort.

We will be making a 3D printed master, casting it and then pouring rings. The lens part is metal, the rest of the ring is not.

This run is about producing a 100% screen accurate prop. It might feel nicer to have a metal prop, and we appreciate that, but the hero prop original was most likely painted plastic with a real metal lens aperture. A metal ring will feel more real, but won't look like the hero prop. The entire prop absolutely looks to be painted the same color:

The final prop will be painted. All parts will be painted, and will look the same, like the hero prop. A metal ring will not look symmetrical. It just can't.

The plan right now is a metal ring and metal diaphragm. The very thin piece that covers the very top of the diaphragm will probably be lasered plastic.
