Anyone planning on tackling this costume????I have no idea how to start not that many reference pics out there.
thanks :)

I'm planning on doing this costume for D*C myself. I'll upload the reference pictures I've fond so far.

I also recommend buying the action figure, it's really good reference.

I have been considering making this costume as well or those who were throwing the "bombs" at the spartan.

I haven't decided but either way not much in the way of references on the net just yet.

I was thinking of doing an immortal of DC myself.

It doesn't look to bad to do. Full head cover balaclava with the mask covering the open area, and a long headband over the top of that.

The chest I am thinking just cut out of sheet metal.

The body is a gi maybe?

I guess I need to pickup the action fig.

I will likely end up with some kind of mashup with my black stormtrooper armor, make and Immortal Trooper.

This is a pretty good pic:

I see the hardest thing to make in my opnion is the shoulder armor....any one have any clue what it's made out of or hof to fabricate it?

Perhaps something like an old pair of football shoulder pads that have been broken down and cut away to leave only the lower pades. You could then paint them or something like that. The costume is relatively bare bones, but these costumes usually take the most work. The beauty of this costume is in the details. I've got the mask on the way for my collection. I plan to use it for Halloween at the Haunted House or for other things. This suit would look good at DC, but alas, too many other things to do before starting a brand new costume.

You could just throw some blood over you and lie on the ground dead, that seemed to be the way most of the immortals ended up being onscreen. :)
It actually is a cool costume, and unlike Darth Vader, it only gets cooler the more folks you have show up in this costume in one place. I have heard good things about the NECA mask for this one, but I haven't seen it myself yet.

I think the football pad idea is pretty good. It is what I was going to suggest :)

The only other kind of difficult looking part (to me) would be the swords, but since they are available for sale, not a problem.

Keep us up to date. I would love to see a fan made immortal costume.

god could you imagine someone going to a convention like dragoncon (you know someones gonna do it!) wearing the 300 costume with a beer belly, basically out-of-shape. no it wont be me. i could just see that now being shown on letterman.

the swords are for sale? are they liscensed? who's doing them?

I ordered one of the Neca Immortal mask and other then hot glue on the right cheek I was pleasantly suprised. The mask intially looks too small when you see the box but looks right when worn. I will post pictures of the mask when I get my replacement for the defective one I ordered.

As far as the swords, Missergraig, i believe they are NECA also.

If you think that woulda been a site to behold, there was a Sci-Fi convention here in NZ recently, where there was a Spiderman with who was out of shape and had man boobs :confused Not too mention a chunky/bloated caped crusader:lol

If anyone needs specific film pics of "the immortals" I might be able to help you out ;)

I plan on doing one of these for DC as well. I already have my Neca mask in. I will probably make the chest piece out of some type of plastic sheets like from a trash can or something then weather it. The shoulders look like the hardest part.

Locating hands and feet that look similar are going to be tough.
