Re: The Expanse: Prop Weapons

Anybody catch the name of the shady club?

The "Tech Noir," ha ha.

That triangle icon on the sign looks familiar, too...

Re: The Expanse: Prop Weapons

After watching Ep.5, the thing on the top of the slide is a weapon light, which Miller activates as he enters a suspect's ship. That's a nice touch, as you definitely need one if you have to search ships.

Re: The Expanse: Prop Weapons

Sweet! You know what they say: every little bit helps :)

Thank your Expanse friends for us.

That's the best shot yet of the Star Helix pistol!

In Ep. 5, we see that the 'thing' on top of the pistol is a flashlight (at least). Miller uses it when he's poking around somewhere.

Uh, I think they were back under acceleration when he brewed that cup :)

Did you notice the cup was branded with the MCRN logo?

I did, and noticed it seemed to be a clear sticker with black printing. seemed to be fairly obvious on my screen.

Re: The Expanse: Prop Weapons

The Expanse has me fired up. I am doing the Star Helix Pistol and the Martian Naval sidearm as kits. I have both the WE Airsoft guns they are based on. I have the additional parts and scratch building the add on gun sights. I am building the gunsights and conversion kits for the two Airsoft rifles - SL8 and the UAR. Pictures will be up soon. Resin kits will be cheaper than the airsoft and scratch built parts.

No point in doing the rifles in Resin - just buy the airsoft - and put the add on gribbles.

Trying to get the graphics printed for label sets,

The OPA has some modified pistols and the Mystery Army has another set of weapons. Don't have pics of those yet. Hopefully someone has a couple more shots of the SDCC 2015 exhibit for the martian pistol to get all the details correctly.

Bad Guys Grenade Launcher

The "Mystery Bad Guys" have (at least) two different guns, I think. One 'assault rifle' and one 'grenade launcher.'

I suspect the assault rifle is substantially scratch-built. The grenade launcher seems to be built around an Ares GL-06 airsoft grenade launcher, with added boxy parts on top and a replaced fore-grip.

Bad Guys Machine Guns

These are unfortunately barely visible on screen. I suspect they may be scratch-built or built around a few airsoft parts with a cosmetic shell over them. The panel lines on the stock and receiver strike me as suspicious.

Trying to get the graphics printed for label sets.

LMK if you need any help creating those graphics. I can't get them printed for you, but I can re-create the artwork.

Re: The Expanse: Prop Weapons

I need help on the Decals ! I can do the Graphics no sweat - I have all the digital art programs to reproduce them - what resolution and format would you need - so i can generate the sheet in the right size and format the first time : )

I have all the WE Airsoft pistols for casting the base guns - scratch building the add on sights and greebles. I NEEd more accurate Martian pistol reference pics for the top gun sight. I am molding the gun sights separate from the base gun - so any cannon modifications can be made with remolding the base gun.

I am working on claying up the Glock now. Star Helix will be the first one out of the gate.

Thanks. Lets do this !

I'm sorry; you misunderstood me: I cannot help you get them printed. Perhaps someone in the Junkyard can print decals or dry transfers, or do cut vinyl?

Attached are some more images of the Martian pistol.
