You really need an accelerated cloning program to help with all this work Steve.

What would he clone, Rosie? Steve is one of a kind. Now if he were to use the Trek approach and create a holodeck in his garage that forms holo-workers, THEN we are talking. :cool

Of course I meant Rosie! :lol
Another idea would be for Steve to contact Harry Mudd and see about whipping up a batch of android workers.
Of course, they have a tendency to try and take over the whole operation so perhaps the holodeck is a better idea after all.

If I could only afford help that would be great but as it is these days what I make keep me afloat with no extras. I could raise the price that would be like shooting myself in the foot. And I'm a better shot than that! LOL!!

I hear ya Steve about having to work solo, I share your pain!! if you could send me just a few of those thousand interns down my way I'd sure appreciate it! LOL
By the way, I just gotta say how totally bitchin your big E turned out (pure perfection) and MORE importantly that your "using" it for your own project. I'm so glad to see that I'm not alone in this venture keeping traditional visual effects alive by using them in our personal projects! Keep on truckin buddy :cheers

Hey thanks and I got to say that Cyclops is amazing! Can't wait to see you animate it. Hope you got a good surface Gauge. ;)

I could use some help guys. I need to rip a Bluray version of The Dooms Day Machine to use in my movie. Since we are shooting 1080p I'd like to keep it consistent.

I am not set up with my many PCs for Bluray. So I have no way to rip the scenes I need to use in Premiere. If anyone can help with this and send me the files or rip on a double density DVD I'll give you a nice screen credit and a big hug! OK some Spock ears too~

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve,

What file format and frame resolution would you like? At 1080P it will be a large file, I can put it on an SD card for you.

Chris thanks. Well I can get away with 1280x720p that might leave more room on the SD. Or thumb.

Ah format. Good question. MPEG2 would most likely be the best. I think the Cannon we are using outputs MPEG2. It's a 1080p. So if you can fit it on at that size that would be great Chris.

Thanks again,

Steve

Hi Steve,

I normally rip my bluray using avi file format and the quality is very good. The ripper I have will also do MP4 file format. I haven't tried the MP4 setting before, so I am not sure how good the quality will be. I will play around with it later on Monday and let you know.

:lolSteve,

Going back to your question about 'what to kit next'? Here are two ideas.

A 'cloaked' Klingon D-7. :lol You'd only need resin for a base.

And the more serious idea, what about a 1/1 scale NOMAD. Would a rotocast model work? I'd love to have one of those in the house.

Ted.

AAAHHH. Shhh, don't tell him that! I just finished a full sized NOMAD from a kit last year and I know Steve's would be superior and I don't know if I'd have room for another.

now, how about a "cloaking device" prop replica? it uses some of the same parts.

You did that on purpose didn't you. LOL! Is there any way to compress it or safely break it down into two files?

Yes, save the file as a split archive, you can break it into as many pieces as you need. They will reassemble when extracted. This will get you around the size limit by the upload host.

Got the kits out the door today and the shop back to normal. Started in on the E again placing the small numbered decals and starting to fill a few gaps on the shroud.

Had a nice long talk with Paul Gentry today and he's coming by tomorrow so we can discuss the shoot. Chris has been kind enough to send me a card with the files on it tomorrow. Thanks Chris! So we are on track to shoot next week.

This weekend I'll be back to the bridge with Will's fantastic graphics of the screens.

All things Star Trek!

Steve
