The definitive Green Hornet thread

I have avested interest in this as GH was always one of my favorite heros growing up.
While NOT a fan of Seth Rogan, he looks like he's slimmed down and may actually be taking this role seriously. We've seen the Black Beauty and it's spot on. Now lets take a look at his and Kato's costumes. He's a link to the first pics: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=71311

First thing I noticed...the Green Hornet doesen't waer belts! :lol
Also, it's hard to tell, but does his over coat look black or a very dark green?

Just looks weird.
The shoes don't really match the clothes and the gloves should be just black.
Maybe i'm just being picky, lol. :lol

It also looks as if he's just wearing a shirt/tie/vest under his overcoat...no suit jacket.

Ive been told his shoes are RM Williams, im looking into this! Would be great to get a closer look at that tie though, is that a green hornet on it or some crazy design? I would think its the green hornet as it no longer appears on his mask so its gotta be somewhere!

I think you're right, would make sense to be the GH logo.

I'm kinda excited for this one. I wouldn't have picked Rogan but that isn't really important.

I'm pretty sure that they had Kato wear different boots for action scenes? These pics they look like normal boots with a heel...

I would love to do a Hornet costume. It could get expensive with what I'm guessing is wool suiting. I dig the Hornet boots myself.

I am a MAJOR GH fan. Did a costume when I was a kid and MUCH later in life with my wife as Kato. I have to dig out the pix.
I think his coat was dark green.
I'll be following this- I've got to put together a new ensemble.

In the pics you posted, no, they aren't the Oakleys. Look at the pics here. You can see the toe and the ribs on the soles. These are the ones I was referring to.

I agree with you Wes. I was just saying the other pictures look like completely different boots. Lace ups with a heel. Wonder why they stuck Oakleys on him during filming? Just for traction I'm guessing. I am curious what the other boots are.

Actually I'm more curious about the Hornet's boots. Off the shelf? I wouldn't mind a pair for more than the costume. I like the look of them.

The hunter green hat doesn't look like the right color of green. I think it would have to be dyed.
It certainly doesn't look like a nice quality hat. The crown is much more pronounced on Rogan's hat then this budget hat. Just throwin it out there.

I'm definitely watching this thread with interest. I know it won't be long before you experts figure out the exact model and manufacturer of the clothing items! I'm going to have to get this costume done for when the movie comes out!

So I spent some time tonight scouring the internet for images so far of the costume for Rogen's Green Hornet and have started compiling them into a photo album here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2274832&id=21420268&l=1066ad4fa4

Some observations I've made in no particular order:
-The mask lacks eyeglass 'ear hooks' like the original costume and has an elastic strap that goes around the head
-Mask is definitely ridged, doesn't flex/flop in Rogens hand, and there is foam padding over the nose, eyebrow and cheekbone areas of the mask for comfort
-I can't tell but it seems like there could be a very light pinstripe to the overcoat, but this could be an illusion of the way the material shows up to the camera, like the interior lining fabric- it may be striped or just reflects funny.
- not dead sure, but what looks like a yoke piece on the back of the jacket actually seems to be a mantel flap
-tie looks like it could have some type of stylized hornet image on it below the knot, seems to have a wide green gradient stripe on it in the knot section and lower down on the front
-boots look to be just black ankle boots
-It looks like he is not wearing a belt with the pants, but may have suspenders under the vest that connect to the inside of the waist. You can see the upside-down 'Y' of suspenders on his back in one of the quarry filming pics.
