The Definitive CW Arrow Thread

Pinder91 and Tvayumat have both confirmed the base bow for season 1 is a Ragim Matrix Jr. 48" 24# model in their respective threads. The bow you suggested has limb pockets, which will negatively impact building an accurate bow.
Ya I realize that but I found one called the OMP Mountain Man Explorer 48" and it looks EXACTLY like the Ragim Matrix!!!!!! I bought the OMP Mountain Man riser and it is the exact same! Even the inserts are the same!!!! Here is the OMP Mountain Man Explorer 48" riser I bought.

At that point, looking at some of the pictures of the limbs etc, both OMP and Ragim may get them from the same source, rebrand and sell.

Well, look at that...GOOGLE YOU HAVE FAILED ME! :facepalm

Just for clarification, if I offended, it was not my intent. Nice find, Josh!

Its all good! I didn't mean to use so many exclamation points. I tend to use them more than what i should and mainly use them for clarification not necessarily to be loud or anything like that. I found so much useful info here just wanted to share what i found. I wanted the riser alone which i couldnt find in the Ragim so i bought the OMP one. I am attaching higher poundage limbs to it cause i am an avid archer you can go to my facebook and see my homemade bows and archery stuff there.

You think for the acorn nut post I could just melt the plastic off of the original or would I still have to cut it? Is there likely a bolt head in there?

Why don't you just buy a couple bolts and cut the heads off. Probably way easier and cheaper (I think those knobs cost about 3$ a piece). I just use a dremel and cut the heads off. Oh unless those came with the bow. Then ya just cut them off. Melting won't work all that well.

It looks like the OMP and Ragim risers look the same but are made differently. Here is my OMP sanded. You can see the layers of wood and the wood looks like another wood.

Hi guys, just thought I'd chime in with an update on my season 2 bow. It's all fibreglassed with filler and primer. Just gotta do a few more coats to get rid of the tiny annoying bits then it's all finished. Then I'll move onto the limbs, and machining the smaller parts out of aluminium.

Do you have the size of the bow parts? I'd love to make one of these and make it shoot! Wish I had the money to buy one but 2000$ is a little much!

Hey, sorry for the late reply. I basically took the tip to tip length from the official oneida kestrel website, then put a picture of the bow into illustrator and scaled it accordingly. Then that gave me the reference image for my project. Hope this helps.

It's okay. Thanks for the progress pics it looks great! I did the same and printed it to scale. I'm working on it now. Mine will work like a real one. I cut the riser, limbs and pulleys. Need to sand riser, add details, and finish the limbs.

That's awesome :) take lots of pix! I can't make it work realistically because I will use it for cosplays etc. So it's good old fashions elastic bowstring for me!
