The Dark Knight Rises (Post-release)

I had the same talk with a friend about how there were toys made for a movie not suitable for children. Kids are going to see the toys in the store, want them then want to see the movie. But I've seen this with other movies/toys. Look at the movie Aliens, I had the entire platoon of action figures fighting off Gobots as a kid (bishop was always traitor, cyborg had to be torn apart) on the living room floor. And Aliens was definitely not a kids flick.

You're not getting it. He knew this film was going to be ominous. What chuck is saying is that he'd like to have had a batman film that he could have taken kids to.

Sorry but have to disagree I understood the statements just not sure why he is so befuddled with all of the information out there about this film?

This was not the first film in the series it was the last spanning several years. :unsure

Im not saying Batman SHOULD be for kids. I'm saying I would have preferred that Batman movies be more family friendly.

It's my opinion. Nothing more.

The Frank Miller Batman certainly isn't family friendly.

There should be room for everybody. The family friendly Batman was made in the late eighties and nineties. And the super family friendly one was done in the sixties.

The Nolan Batman series was for those who wanted something a little more serious.

To anyone who DIDN'T appreciate Bane, BAM, straight from the horse's (co-creator's) mouth.

"I am beyond glad that Nolan had the juice in Hollywood to stick to his guns. From interviews I’ve seen, it’s clear he understands the character and he gets what we were going for. It’s not exactly what I created, but he’s physically imposing and Tom Hardy is one hell of an actor. I can’t imagine Bane being better portrayed.

If you want a movie for kids, there are PLENTY of old stuff for kids. There were a hundred episodes of various incarnations you can watch from TV. THIS was for ADULTS. Stop complaining.

One thing I did find amusing about the movie though is toward the end where Bruce climbs out of the prison, he turns around and drops the rope down into it after climbing out.

Thing is .. I'm pretty sure SOME of those people in there were in there for a reason.

Saw it last weekend, and this movie rocked the crap out of me!

Less colourful than the previous, figuratively as well as literally, but a wonderful end to this trilogy.

(Although I regret watching all the trailerstuff before, they put A LOT of the movie into those...)

There was a severe lack of fun in this film. It's not damning to the movie at all but it could've added an element to it. If you look at Begins, there is a blatant element of fun with him trying out his new toys and interacting as the billionaire playboy. In TDK, Joker. Though he may be a deranged individual, he's still a clown. Making light of nearly every situation. The most fun though, is that scene in Japan... him gliding around the night sky moments before overtaking the building. Stuff like that adds a thrilling form of excitement. I liken it to Iron Man soaring through the sky, just his mode of transportation but you can find yourself saying, "Sign me up for that ride."

Just saying I agree, no fun in a casual sense but this movie is fun to watch. That scene in the sewers.... strobe fight HA

Was anyone else genuinely worried for Bats when he fought Bane the first time? I sure was- since I knew the movie was DARK.
I had done my best to avoid spoilers so I had no idea what was coming! I didn't know just how bad Bats was going to GET IT

I even glanced over at my girlfriend and she was wincing the whole fight

You didn't find it jarring that he could scale a wall after having his broken back fixed by just pushing it back in?

I don't think his back was broken. I thought the guy taking care of him said it's not broken, you've gota vertebrae out of place.

Broken back typically means your paralyzed. Bruce was in some serious pain due to (apparently) a displaced vertabrae, not a broken one.

Plus, it's not like he climbed the wall later that day or the next. It was nearly 2 months between being toss in there and getting out. Bomb was set after he was gone with 57 days til detonation and he got back with less than 24 hours to go.

Especially when he had him down and it was clear Wayne was done, yet he continued to smash his face. I started getting genuinely anxious. After that exchange, I was completely invested.

if this film ended 4 minutes earlier it would have been perfect

i had to read a few posts just to make sure that all spoilers where out i want to discus robin and the cafe. first of all let me say i thought the film was incredible it was dynamic and had a different feel to the others which i loved i wasn't keen on the bat being broken then he managed to return so quickly but it worked in the film i expected John to that azrele role as the batman to kill Bane. no he become blooming Robin i guessed it from the minute he was cast but thought no Bale won't like it and neither will Nolan and then more and more thing confirmed it. now i personally hate Robin always have i can tolerate Red Hood story arc but that's about it. bale said if they put robin in he'll chain himself to his trailer and yet he still appeared are we gonna get a Nightwing sequel? what do you guys think of Robin

secondly i thought for a long time batman would die at the end of the film and i really wish the film ended at the funeral and that there was no cafe scene because he died as the symbol the city needed if he survived why didn't he come back to help put Gotham back to how it was before bane arrived all the series he wanted Gotham to be a nice place and he's left it worse then ever?

don't get me wrong i loved it as a film i just felt it opened up some plot holes towards the end

I took it as if the transaction Bane did to rip Wayne of his wealth was reversed, then it was to be used to help fix the city, with Alfred being the custodian.

Bruce never abandoned Gotham... he just abandoned the destructive path he had taken to attempt to live a normal life. He'd still try to care for Gotham, just not through Batman.

Well put :thumbsup

I think the movie's not long enough:behave haha, the build up was great,i care for the characters, but ruined by some instant 'finish',and minor logic....I think
Love the actors performance, hate some of the scripts
Anybody thinks that the movie was not 'stitched' well enough?

Catwoman.....man...damn you Bruce!!:darnkids:lol

It isn't really robin. It seemed to me more like a joke for fans. Albeit a bad one. It's just new Batman, that's the point of the whole trilogy is that Batman is anybody.
