The Blue Box - The TARDIS has landed!

Re: The Blue Box

This is incredible. The weathered look makes me pine for the Tennant days, and you nailed it, my friend. Good luck with your deadline.

Re: The Blue Box

My wife and I talked of going house shopping in another year or so. I may need one of these with a removable back to attach the back door of our new house. ;) Exceptional work. Truly amazing.

Re: The Blue Box

Great work Jimmy. I can't wait to see it finished.

I do have a question about the white sign on the door. In a few Matt Smith episodes, it looks like this sign is actually lit from behind. Is this just an illusion or do they really have it setup that way?

Smith's sign is indeed backlit. It's a fairly complicated design that Rebelscum details in his build thread.

Thanks. I have always wondered about it since I first noticed it and then saw the earlier design from 2005 which didn't appear to have it. Until I read this thread I didn't realize that they had changed the outside of the box from doctor to doctor.

Re: The Blue Box

Sometimes, pictures have a way of speaking for themselves. This is one of those times, however I wanted to interject with a theme song that I think sums up how I feel about all time invested in our research and development as well as the months of detailed labor that helped to achieve the quality you see below:

Wow! :eek That is absolutely stunning! Congratulations. This easily puts the prop to shame. This is just beautiful work. Well done! I hope mine turns out half as good. Just amazing!

Fantastic work as usual!

Here are some shots I edited to help show it off for the con:

I wanted something to show off the box as best we could so with this one I went simple.

But I much prefer this one as the con is in Philadelphia and it just seemed fitting.

The TARDIS shot was taken by Frosty and the Philly shot by my friend Terry Robinson.

Thus also serves as another good example of my paintwork - I have a JY Thread for anyone who has prop kits that need building and painting ;-)
Thank you all for the positive reactionz
