The Blood Diamond

I just saw the movie, and it is easily on my top 10 favourites. I can't find words to describe how powerful it was to me, and I'm going to recommend it to most of my friends. I'll hold myself from saying anymore because I'll probably reveal some of the plot. :p

Anyway, to the point. I'm not sure if there is a thread about this already, but does anyone have any pictures/ideas of any of the props from the movie, so maybe we could recreate them? I was thinking the Blood Diamond itself, wrapped in stained khaki/brown cloth. This would be an amazing prop to own.

Thoughts, opinions?

Great movie. :thumbsup

It was my favorite movie of the year. I thought the acting was exceptional and I thought it was a very powerful movie as well. I think I was shellshocked for almost a half an hour afterwards.

It's a couple of hours since I've seen it, and I'm still shellshocked. I have to say, Djimon Hounsou (who played Solomon Vandy), was absolutely brilliant. No one else could have done a better job.

Also; to anyone who can make the diamond with some sort of clear resin, with a pink tinge to it? This would be an awesome project. We still need some good images for it, firstly. I've been Googling like mad the past few hours.

I liked Stephen Colbert's answer to that one:

(Rough paraphrasing)

"So, are people going to buy a diamond knowing it may have cost a child their hand? No...not without getting it appraised first."

So...anyone gonna ever buy a diamond again?

Even if I did have the money I wouldn't buy a diamond. Props come first. :)

*Bump*

So... anyone willing to take up this project?

Or anyone else have ideas about identification of other props in the movie?

Sorry for bringing this old thread up to the top.
I'll post a pic of my stone "replica" asap. I've used a nice and heavy quartz gem stone.
