The Batman

TeHEHEHeHeee *Mr. Burns finger tap*

They had stuff in that trailer that I hadn't even known I wanted in a batman movie, but there it all was any ways. lol.

I hadn't swung into the IMDB page for this movie in a while, so I'd missed a few castings.

Jeffrey Wright as Gordon was nothing I ever thought of, but now I can't think of another modern actor I want to do the job more.

And is that really Collin Farrell as that heavy set bearded man at the podium?

And that beating, WOOO!

I'm interested but teasers are meant to do that, so I don't know what to feel. I liked the tone and atmosphere it set up at first...and then it showed Batman and it just threw everything off. Then there's Penguin, Catwoman, Jokerz (or just the rest of the rogues gallery cause Two-Face is in there) on top of Riddler... Can we just go back to having one antagonist? I know stories want higher stakes but often times, multiple antagonists distracts from what works in a film and the narrative loses focus.

I'm curious more now than I was when this film was announced but Joker burned me out and, like Joker, I kind of want to see the thriller they're setting this up to be but it nothing having to do with Batman.

Also, him beating up that cg dummy at the end looked awful. I hope they don't keep it.

I liked it. Visually, it’s got a good feel to it. Hopefully they can pull it off. I like the cast (so far) and the suit didn’t bother me the same way it did in the first pictures that were released. And most importantly, no more terrible Batfleck “voice changer”. I can’t believe people gave Bale crap for years about his Batman voice but no one said anything about “dO yOu bLeEd?”

Looks good so far. My only issue is the suit. Kinda tired of the cobble tac suit concept and hope they more towards the more fluid Affleck style (not sewn pieces look tho) look. Obviously it's just a teaser, and my thoughts are based solely on that. So I'm nitpicking lol.

I loved the jet engine firing up on the Batmobile. And hope to hell someone calls it that.

Bruce looks like a dick, but so did Bale's origin movie version. I've Keeton and Affleck's Bruce were the best so far, but their characters were older established Bruces, so it makes sense.

So much opinion from one teaser ;)

It takes Batman 10 strikes (I counted) to put the clown down. Then 2 more to ensure he stays there. That's poor.

Emo Bruce Wayne is really bad.

Batman looks like a spare part in that crime scene, like its a scene at a costume party and he hasnt left yet.

Still not liking the suit.

Watch again - he's hanging onto the guy. It may have only taken one or two blows to drop him. The repeated pummeling and then the arm break before he releases him - and then the continued bashing after he LETS him drop - shows that he's possibly working out some anger issues.

Don't know about anyone else, but if the amount of blows a fictional goon takes in a teaser is worthy of criticism, then I think they are doing okay so far lol. Can't always end a fight like Masvidal did against Askren.

Is this supposed to be a prequel to Affleck's Batman? A sequel to Joker? I can't figure out what DC is doing with these movies.
It doesn't look terrible but it doesn't look great either. I tried watching Burton's Batman a few days ago and couldn't get past the two crooks he beats up (yet doesn't stop, arrest or reclaim stolen property from) at the beginning.
Batman in film has become a suit and a car first and a character 2nd. I'd love to see Batman using his superior intellect to actually stop crime rather than showing up after the fact and seeking revenge. Having the character played like Adam West did without the camp, intelligent, serious, physically capable and most importantly.. not a slave to his emotional state!
Of course that will never happen so I'll probably check this out, at the very least the car looks really good.

Not really feeling it. Some of the little touches were great like all the cops staring at him as he's walking in and leaving the eye black on when the cowl is off. And yes it's nice to go back to "normal" Batman voice. But there was nothing in the trailer that really grabbed me. I'm not digging goth Bruce at all.

I will say I like the palette of the world. It's not as overly digitized as other DC movies and it looks very well shot.
