This is just going to be a quick little experiment for me to go to a Halloween party a friend of mine is throwing. If all turns out well, I'll probably be making the full suit eventually.
I have done a fair bit of screen printing before but never with any material other than regular cotton shirts before so it was a new experience.
First off was a trip to the fabric store. All I needed was red so I went to the Lincraft in Brisbane city and they didn't have any full pieces but the ones they did have were the size I could use but I also got it cheaper which is always nice.
Next, I printed on the brick pattern on. The first one I did, the pattern was way too obvious so what I did was mix my ink even darker and then flipped the whole thing over and used the opposite side of the fabric that had the bricks show through much more accurately.
This photo is the side I printed on because the side I'm using doesn't really photograph well and you can't see the pattern but it is noticeable in person.

Most of the web lines came out okay except for the front of the neck section because the clamp on my table came off and let the black ink bleed through. I'll probably redo that piece later and use this one as practice for the painting for the webs. I'm still not sure whether or not to go for just the Tulip puff paint or the latex which looks really good on the ones I've seen.

I've heard about how hard it is to sew and make the web lines line up properly but threaded most of it so that the lines stay together when sewn and looks like it shouldn't be too hard to do.

I'll have more updates soon-ish. I still have to do the lenses which I'm pretty sure will be easy enough and if I get around to it, a faceshell, which isn't of the highest importance right now and will be the last thing to do. Any and all comments/criticism is welcome.
Thanks.
