Hello all, i thought i would share my levitating Death Star model i made from a levitating globe desk toy.

Stripping the cover off the domes.

That is so cool! Did you use magnets to get it to levitate?


i used one of those Levitating globe desk toys, so they are levitated with an electro magnet in the top of the frame and a strong magnet in the top of the globe.


cocomonk22 was it difficult to rebalance after changing the globe to the Death Star?
nope, you just have to keep an eye on how much weight you put on the globe. i did a test with some 2p (uk) coins and it could only hold 2 of them, any more weight it just fell out of the magnetic field.
 
"Look at the SIZE of that thing!" (as in, it's so small). ;)

Seriously though, that is a pretty dang cool conversion.
 
Haha. I did not even notice the Star Destroyer at first. Very cool idea!

It is ingenuity like this that makes me love the RPF, lol.
