I was playing The Force Unleashed on my nds:)unsure) the other day and i unlocked a very interesting costume.

The description said it was based on ancient Sith costumes from Yavin 4 but i couldn't find any information.

So i did some quick drawings from what was visible on screen, which was a real pain in the ass thanks to nds graphics.

So here are my first drawings and i want it to be finished before next April.
It would be really awesome if i could wear this to the Elf Fantasy Fair.

feel free to share your thoughts and opinion. I'm always open to suggestions.

Re: TFU jungle battle gear costume

Made some progress on the gloves today. It took me a while to adapt the gloves the way i wanted to. It was only an hour of work to get both the armored parts finished.

It was all done in less than 3 hours.

Bought some gloves that had the correct size and cut the finger tips of.

I made some templates based on the hand armor that Galen Marek has on the TFU2 poster. They where cut out of 2 layers of very sturdy cardboard.
I then covered it all with aluminum tape and glued the 2 parts together.

Added some black ink over the whole piece and used some very rough sandpaper to give it some texture. Then i used some scotch-brite to make it shinier again. At last i drybrushed the entire piece and hotglued it to the glove.

Finished the belt buckle concept art.
What material can be used for this?
any sugestions?

Do you want it to have a metalic look or a fabric/leather look? if you want it to look like fabric/leather, you could cut out the designs into styrofoam and get some strips of whatever kind of fabric you wanted at a micaels or some type of hobby shop and wrap the fabric around the foam. but if you want it to look like metal, id use some type of plastic or hard cardboard like your hand plates, by the way those look great!

Thanks a lot MrGzilla!
I think i will stick with the handplate way of doing this. Do you perhaps know what i can use for the backpieces i designed in the first post? I thought about using the same method as the foam iron man suits.

no problem, im not sure, but i think the foam would be good, but i just dont know how well paint would stick to it, or how good the paint would look, unless you found some foam thats the right color to begin with.

Or maybe cover the foam with black fabric of some sort. I think i'm gonna have a look at that.

More Dutchies..!!

Working on an Ironman mark IV for EFF 2011

maybe a WoW related costume for my girlfriend

Anyways good luck..!! I'll be looking out for you at the EFF :p

It has been a while since my last update.

I found some old rubber bands that i will be using as belts but i had to change my design a little bit. I will use 2 belts instead of the drawn 3 thanks to their width.

Since a friend of mine will use my mando armor i thought it was kind of fun to make a little trophy collection.

I will start working on my large belt buckle and 4 smaller buckles this afternoon and i will post my progress a.s.a.p.

Small update on the trophy chain,
It has 2 braided cords, a small tooth of a very ferocious animal (suggestions of what beast it comes from are welcome :lol) and some sort of lucky charm thingy. It was all improvised with what was available from my desk :lol

I did some experimenting with what i will wear on my fore arm i took some rags and some loop straps with metal buckles. it didn't really turned out the way i would have wanted it. I think i will try to use large cups and add some details to those.

Made some progress since my last post here.
I finished the belt and made myself a sash (is it called that way?) to go under it.
Did some cutting and weathering on the buckle and hot glued it in place.

I am still using bandages for my shins but i will replace them with custom made boots or shin guards in time.

I made a template for the armor on my back and my chest guards. I just called them chest guards since they don't cover my entire chest but only the pieces near my arms.
So much for the big update

I just wanted to say awesome start (I'm currently working on a force Unleashed costume myself). I actually wanted to say if ya cant get the paint to stick to the foam I would look into Adhesive Vinyl, which comes in a huge roll (for pretty cheap, and I believe you can find it in sliver and paint that) which you can cut into the shape of the foam and just stick the two together. This is the method I'm using for a couple of my armor pieces in fact, and for a couple of the touch ups on my light sabers. Can't wait to see what other stuff ya come up with!

Looks Awesome so far.
It's a style of costume I've wanted to do, but I know I couldn't pull it off. But yours looks great.
I look forward to seeing your continuing WIP pics.

Heej Guyvierion,
thanks for the tip but i think i will make the armored pieces out of polystyrene sheets.
Can you post a link to your own thread? I am kinda curious about your costume.

Well it has been a while since my last update and i have done some real work on my suit.

I made some templates for the shoulder and back armor.
I used an action man and made the templates with some paper.
I scanned the small template and redesigned the whole works in Illustrator.
I then printed it out and pasted it on the polystyrene sheets i bought.
after that all i cut it out of the large sheets and used a hairdryer to thermo form the parts. Then i used some kind of straps to connect the 2 back pieces and the shoulder pieces and used a buckle in the front.

Another update.
Done a lot of painting and weathering and made some small buckles on the front.
You will also see me in the armor with a long sleeved t-shirt. I will use a sleeveless one in the future.
I also need to mod a cheap pair of boots.
Anyone any suggestions on where to start?
-Sjors

Awesome work so far, for cheap boots I would try any military surplus store I found a pair of black combat boots there for $20

It has been a while since my last update.
I think i'm done with this costume.
The gloves are redone to look more like starkillers tfu 2 arena combat gear.
The belt is rebuilt to look like starkillers belt and i really think that i'm going on with that particular costume.

I will keep this as a learning exercise and a back up suit in case i dont finish the tfu 2 one in time for the Elf Fantasy Fair next year.

Thanks for all your support.
