Ok, this is a very silly thing, but it's something I actually figured out and found. Of course it's only in a couple scenes for a fraction of any time, but I'm tickled that I figured out what a part is

Lee Towersey showed off his "toolbox droid" from TFA in a panel at Celebration London and I was intrigued.

So a key question is "how big is the droid?" But there aren't a lot of references in those photos. However, the larger oil can seems big enough to be a decent ruler - trouble was: what is it? I asked Lee, but the non-droid parts came from the props department, so he wasn't much help there. Yes, that stuff is in the still, but it's really hard to see.
Poking around I discovered that it's similar to some fuel cans, and, zooming in, I found markings on it. And considering where Lee lives, I figured that it'd be easier to find things in UK shops than in USA shops that might fit.
So, eventually I figured it out. It's a Pressol 0656238 2L petrol can. They come with & without caps and spouts. Finding someone to sell me one in the US was even harder, but eventually I got my prop oil/whatever can.
Here's my wife posing with it pretending to be happy for me

It might've been easier if I lived in Europe since these seem like they live in some auto shops and would be readily available in some places.
I guess now we have to paint & weather it. But at least now I have a "ruler" if I ever have time to think about the Toolbox Droid again.

Someone shared a random promo photo that showed the droid in a scene that I don't remember from TFA, so maybe the toolbox droid will show up in TLJ as well. I'm suspect even if it does that the oil can stuff has been lost by now, but who knows.
FWIW: Lee mentions the toolbox droid was pretty unstearable, so the tracks were fixed to a single axle. And then apparently the wooden blocks on the tracks made so much noise that whenever it showed up on the set JJ said "That thing's not going to move, right?"
