Should we work on arranging another Texas Prop Party? It has been close to a year since the last one. eaviii was generous enough to host last year's. What an excellent job he did too. It would be a great opportunity to see everyone again.

Looks like it will be in Fort Worth, on Saturday March 31st.

E,

I'm thinking about arranging a little prop party maybe in Febuary in the Houston area for the locals to greet and meet.

But I was thinking of something bigger later in the month to coincide with conventions in the area.

Don't know if you Dallas/FW or Tulsa OK propers are interested in driving down for it.

There's a cool Anime con going on in town in April....

And then there's Houston's very first Trek con in September...

I'm game for another Dallas prop party too. :D
We could have it on March 17, the same time as the Dallas Comic Con Fan Day...

Or Wait until the summer for the next "bigger" Dallas Comic Con in late June

I'd come to Houston. Maybe we should also have a D/FW area party.

March 17th is the weekend of All-Con too. They've been really lame so far in only announcing 2 guests; Ellen Tigh from Battlestar Galactica and the voice of Optimus Prime. The thing I like most about All-Con, aside from the burlesque show which is supposed to be back this year, is there is alcohol on premises which makes the con going experience much more fun.

The following weekend is the Fear Fest O7 weekend. That looks like a lot of fun. There are like 8 people from the Chainsaw Massacre movies including every Leatherface and Tobe Hooper, a couple Jason Voorhees a Michael Meyers or two, Roddy Piper, Tony Todd, Barbara Crampton, and Jenna Jameson.

:D I was thinking it's about time for another prop party. I actually have some replica props to bring this time around. Nothing too special, but then I've only been here for a year. I gotta start with the basics like a Luke ANH saber and Han ESB blaster.

I'm dating a teacher now, and the 17th is the last week end of Spring Break. It's conceivable I could be out of town, but we're still working on the travel plans. I have time to manipulate the travel itinerary to be here for it. She might even want to tag along.

I'll be watching this thread closely... and trying to finish up some projects :lol

February?. Houston?. COUNT ME THE FRAK IN.. I have family close by.

I'll bring my Pulse Rifle and ALL my props, this time.. :D

Houston's a bit far for me, but Dallas or Plano, I'm in there like swimwear.

Keep me in the loop for details. I may be able to swing it, this time. It would be nice to finally meet you folks in person. :)

I'm still stuck in Oklahoma, but homebase is in Dallas. I'm down for that.

Hey, Funky- I still want to come up to Tulsa and hang out with you guys.

I'll let you locals know when a Houston Prop party will be, nothing big, like I said, just a meet and greet with snacks and beer :)

Evan, I plan to attend Texas Frightmare weekend too, I gotta meet and get Doug Bradley's autigraph.
OOPS. Got my Frightmare mix-up with your Fearfest... 2 different cons altogether :$

Don't know much about All Con, But Anime Matsuri in April have that Optmus Prim guys too. Plus a cool Japanese J-pop group and Koto drummers. Not to mention the cosplay stuff.

A prop party in Dallas on any of the Dallas comic con days, Allcon or Texas Frightmare weekend would be good.

Indeed March would be cool- I am on-service that month (working weekends) but could attend afternoon/evening- Would be great to see everyone-

Estil's my boy. If he ain't goin', I ain't goin'. :D

Well, is Febuary too soon?

Well, I know I wouldn't want it to be March 23-25, as thats the weekend of Fright Fest.

We could likely get space at All-Con if we wanted to do it there. All-Con is March 16-18. I don't know if others would like the idea of having non-prop people gawking at or handling your stuff. Also, that means attending All-Con and paying to get in. The free Scifi Expo weekend is also Saturday and Sunday.

Rahr brewery in Fort Worth may be willing to provide space and beer.

:unsure I won't be able to make it if it's March 16-18. I'll be on my way home from Indianapolis. :unsure
