Terminator - Stan Winston Mold

Hi, i managed to get hold of a mold, of a mold, of a mold of a Stan Winston bust. I've Painted it up and added hair. This is my first real attempt at painting and never added hair to anything either.
But with reference too other Arnold and Terminator related threads on here i've been able to gather quite a bit of information which has helped me along the way.

This first picture was taken well over a year ago and all i have done is added skin tone and some shiney silver endo paint. At this point i didn't hve a clue what i was doing and it stayed like this for a while. (excuse the tshirt lol)

After taking a bit of a plunge and feeling brave, a few months after the last pic i decided to try adding bit more detail to it by painting up some of the battle damaged areas.

As you can see its not very good. At the time tho i was very happy with it, but again it stayed like this for quite a while.

I then stumbled across this site and other peoples work and it relly inspired me to do something about mine and bring it up to a decent standard, so i added some hair and Re-Worked the paint job.

Not so keen on the front view. I think its because the hair looks a bit out of place and it still needs eyebrows and lashes adding - Once thats done i'll be pleased with it. Also the eyes are inaccurate.

A view from the left. Think i've done well with the hairline - This is my first attempt so over the moon with it.

Thanks for looking and thank you for all your inspiration for me to finally do something with this.

Lots of brilliant Arnold, Terminator busts on here - I hope mine is worthy enough to stand alongside everyone elses.

It looks good but you really should have prepared the bust before you painted it. Like sanding off the seam lines and filling ant defects with putty. Nice paints and the hair looks great.

Hey,

Thanks for your reply - I guess not preparing the bust first was a bit of a school boy error!

Your suggestions are something i could still do but this is made from a sort of silicone, its rigid, yet bends very easily. If it was made of resin i would of done that but didn't think it was possible with what this is made from.

Looking good. Is that the Gregory wig that most people tend to use here?

Thank you,

It sure is, Tho its not a perfect fit. It needs quite a bit of adjusting to get the hairline right. Once ya get the hang of what ya doing its pretty straight forward from there.

The hair is also quite long - So definately needs cutting into the style of Arnolds.

Once done tho the hard work is worth it, definately makes a difference to the overall appearance of it!

Yea looks pretty good so far. The looks decent so far especially for first time as it can easily go wrong. Really needs eyebrows and lashes.
If you go down the route of sticking the brow on, try to rough up the right side, maybe lay it in clumps of hair where the damage is.
Also you can get pretty decent rep glasses from ebay cheap which you rough up and damage.
I got a pair for my build im in the process of doing.
Keep going with it :)

Hey thanks again everyone. Yeah the wig is colour number 8, its an almost perfect match!

As for the lashes and brows im trying to think of the best way to do it and what to use to stick the brows on. If i can find what to use to stick them down with I'll use that but im also thinking of just buying some stick on ones. Like i said im still thinkin how to go about it!

I'll be grateful of any tips or advice.

Thanks!

How did you go with the lashes/brows? Also, I know you said the eyes are wrong.......did you use 11mm iris? I think that's the standard for Arnold busts. And how did you stick down the wig? Cheers.

Still not done anything with the eyebrows and lashes yet, still trying to work out the best option.

Yes the eyes that i have used are the only ones i had, and they are the wrong colour. Also the iris on these is 16mm.

With the wig i used heat glue to stick it down. a bit messy because it goes stringy, but does the job brilliantly.

Are you currently doing your own arnold bust? I would love to see it if you are!

Thanks a lot!

Hi mate

I like the way you're working on the bust - looking good. Keep us posted!
Very lucky of you to get a mold of mold of a mold of a SW bust. It's a great find.
