Teflon A Good Substitute For Anodize?

For coloring stainless steel surfaces black, would teflon be a good substitute for black anodize that would be on aluminum?

Thanks a lot.

Teflon would not look the same as an anodized surface, and if you planned any weathering, it might come out looking a bit odd. Of course if you plan to cook on it Teflon might be best... ;)

There are special processes available for putting a black finish on SS for guns, you might look into that.

I came up with something called PVD. Smooth and durable. Looks promising.

Thanks.
