Looks cool! Lens and shell looks good on it too! Puff paint next? I'm curious what color are you painting the bricks on the blue part? if you are that is.
 
Very nice! Silly question but... what's it like to actually wear a spidey suit?!
I'm hoping to have one ready for the Amazing Spiderman 2 premier! I can't wait to be in the queue for my ticket looking like my hero!

I can promise you, you've never felt as uncomfortable as in the suit, never in your entire life, it's like you're wearing a giant, slim fit sock. You look at yourself and think "Is my body really shaped that way?". But all the same, you've never felt more beautiful, haha. I think you'd be able to stare at yourself for a couple of hours, admiring both the incredible suit, and yourself actually. As Andrew Garfield said, "You know, when you first put it on, you’re like, "OK, here we are! I better savor this moment!" It is a real thing when you see yourself embodying something that has meant so much to you. But the interesting thing about it is that it doesn’t belong to you. You very, very quickly realise it’s not you; you are just doing your job. The suit is really what people love, and whatever body is in that suit, it doesn’t really matter. That’s what I find so wonderful about this character is that he is everyone’s and he is everyone. There are many qualities in him that are very relatable.". That's a pretty accurate description of the whole thing.

Don't think I want to puff paint.. I don't really like the look on the tasm 2 suit

If you ask the owner of the movie theater, he may actually want you to be on hand to mingle with the crowd on opening night... signing autographs, taking photos, etc. He may throw some perks in... free movie tickets, or ???? I've done that for my local theater for all 4 movies (12 years of suit wearing). The owner brings me in early in the evening, allows me to watch the movie with theater employees (their trial run of the movie) and then I suit up and "work the crowd" at the midnight showing.

I agree with all of AlmostSpiderMan's comments. It is really cool to bring smiles to faces and be a part of special memories for people. I actually say a little prayer on my way to events/appearances, something like, "God, let me be a blessing to the people I'm with tonight. Let me be the best Spider-Man I can be for them." It might sound corny, but I do take it seriously... especially for the kids... they may never have a chance to "meet" Spidey anywhere else. Be prepared for various questions from kids about Spider-Man! (I also have some one-liners I throw out for teenagers/adults, including reasons I won't be spinning webs or climbing walls.)

More "technical" aspects of wearing the costume..... be prepared to have severely reduced vision. Buy something to adequately cover up your manhood.... I've used athletic supporters under some under armour compression shorts, and am moving on to a quilted dancer's belt (look it up on a google search). It's also a good idea to have someone with you to "watch your back"... on rare occasions you might have someone who wants to harass you (or a little kid trying to throw a punch or kick your way). It's good to have an assistant or 2 along with you (or provided by someone else) if you're in a public setting.

That sounds amazing - I really would like to do this, but truth be told - i'm VERY shy, i'd be terrified! I will definitely pose for photos if anyone wants one, but otherwise, i'm heading there with my friends and making a party of it all day :D
I'll use it as a testing ground and build some confidence!

Im super shy too. But some kids are shy too :) and i think with kids its different than with adult. Also nobody sees u :) ur spidey. Also i try to keep the motto "life begins outside of the comfort zone" its hard but fun sometimes. Lol

I really like this motto! I try to live by it, but I know I can certainly push myself a lot more - I'll try this out! :)
 
I'm 27 would you believe! I had to do a presentation as part of my college course last week, and my colleagues are considerably older and more experienced. Needless to say, I managed to do a good job!
I suppose where the costuming is concerned, I won't know till I try it, so i'll have a go!

Actually, that's how it all started for me! I went to the opening show of "Spider-Man" in 2002... it was a noon showing... I went in costume. I actually pretended like I didn't have the costume on... went through the line, sat in the theater and watched the film. When I came out the owner approached me about coming back in the evening for the bigger crowds. And now here we are 12 years (and 4 new Spidey costumes) later!
 
Honestly, once you get your first picture with someone that comes up to you, you will get that awesome feeling. You will be like "so this is how a movie star feels like!" After you're done the day you will feel like you want to go out with the suit to the next event again!
 
I can tell you just from my experience of wearing a halfway decent Captain America costume to comic conventions - kids aged 5 and under will think you ARE Spiderman. And it's SO cool. Enjoy it.

Oh and once you put the mask on. Your shyness may just go away. After all, no one will know who you really are. You practically ARE Peter Parker. :)
 
All those posts make me sad that we dont have any comic convention in Germany thats worth going to. Lol
