Hey guys, I’ve been watching this topic and it’s super awesome! I’ve always wondered what happend to the original T2 endo hero. I did found a very cool video about him:

Got some questions that maybe you guys can answer:

  • Why did they build a full endo when in het movie they only use the top torso? (except for the skull crushing endo and the one lying on the ground)
  • Can we make a list of the “Guns & Roses” members and know their current locations/who owns them?
  • The endo that was auctioned of propstore (https://images.propstore.com/6f54bf045693eb21eac5e76411395bb2.jpg) has a 2 very strange cables on it's back/neck. Havent seen it before, did you?

How does someone just get access to original molds to complete the missing parts of an endoskeleton. Must have inside connections. I remember years ago someone commenting on a YouTube Stan Winston School “how to” video. They asked for a skull cast like they were using in the video. The Stan Winston school guy said “the public can’t have access to a cast like that.” We are lucky to have access to what’s out the there though. If it wasn’t for Paul Francis we would have a lot less.

Wonder why they opted out of using the bottom one? Maybe it was in the way for the motor pieces in the chest?

Mine has sculpts by Jamie(Jaz Creations.) to fill in the missing vertebrae so it completes the full length spine all the way through. He did a great job.
 
Completed the neck scans. Now I just need to fix some damage that was on the LFS kit neck piece. Fortunately I had another neck casting I bought years ago, which I can use to fix the broken areas of the 1st and 3rd section from the top. Though, since that casting is smaller, I couldn't just scan and fuse those areas with the LFS neck scan, so I have to do it manually after sizing the older casting up to size.

And since the LFS neck were scanned as separate pieces I was able to position and rotate them so they looked more even with each other. It's not perfect and I may put it back how the LFS kit has it, except the 1st one, which I definitely have to rotate no matter what. Anyway... don't mind the additional bits left over on the castings, as I simply did not want to remove all the excess right now, so just scanned it with it.

Left model was scanned with the Mole scanner, right model is Einstar. I scanned the older piece with the Einstar as well, but I only scanned the areas I needed, so used the Mole scan to show LFS style and my rotations.

Well, the feet they sourced are LFS style, not SWS production style. So the rest may be as well.

Have you found any matching details between the lightstorm endo and the hero prop, because if you have I'd love to see what you've found.

No I haven't found any except for the fact that it's in James Cameron's room and the tourguide says it in the video that it is the skull crushing hero prop, so it could be plausible. It should have been the only endo that has a fixed left leg to the base, but I can't really see the same pose of the legs in the pictures or video. So that still leaves question marks...

Also the things he says about the rifle I don't believe. The skull crusher doesn't fire it's rifle. This is the only video I found of the hero skull crusher in the making of


And there is no scene in the movie with a single rifle endo firing away, only dual rifles. And those are puppeteered with only the torso part. Here's a clip of how they did it:



So I take it with a grain of salt everything the tour guide tells.

Ghostman those prices are a joke. I can’t believe how much some of these statues go for these days. I get that the price of everything has gone up but I just couldn’t justify it myself.

With the better picture of the neck from the DVD extra features that ghostman posted I attempted to position and rotate my scans to match as close as possible. It's not perfect, but I like how it looks. Personally, aesthetically, I would move 3+4+5 a little nudge towards the left from the front, so it lines up more... but then it won't match the reference.

I did however rotate section 3 forward a little and additionally section 5 towards the back and down on the left when looking at the front, as I was trying to further perfect the alignment to the reference, since the above picture was made.

I think that is the last I may move the parts... and I'm pretty pleased with the result.

Now I just need to see if I can fix the damage on section 1 and 3 and see if I can attempt making the 6th one.

Yeah, his stuff looks really amazing. He makes several different versions of the endoskeleton. And I like he puts them on poses we rarely see such as the blown up torso - though they should have remove parts of one of the hands - or when he's walking up the stairs at the end of T1.

For a while I thought PT Studio used his model for their limited 1:6 scale endoskeleton... but I am not sure.

I scanned the foot models, so I could use them as guides for when I position my modeled foot models in the correct position to fuse with the ankle piece.

Also scanned one of the piston ball joint ends. Found a whole bag of small stuff I had forgotten about... the parts are pretty simple, so I'll just model them based on measurements from the parts.
 
He really needs to see an optometrist. His eyes aren’t what they used to be.
