T O Y Story 3 (With Spoilers)

Just a quick question - Considering that Ned Beaty did the voice of the bear, Im wondering if any of the Pixar writers ever considered (even for a split second) of having a scene where the bear says to Hamm - "Squeal, Squeal like a pig!":lol

I had thought that. I was hoping that Hamm would say "Go Woody! Make him squeal like a pig!" while Woody and Lotso were fighting in the dump rubble... it would be the perfect inside joke for adults

huh? :confused

Well, I saw the UP thread had just fallen off the map, so I thought I'd go slightly OT here for a second and confess that I just watched this and it made me cry a grand total of three times, beating out the Iron Giant for cartoon that I'm most ashamed to watch in front of other people. Wow, what a film.

thank you for positing this. It is fun looking through all the easter eggs
I dunno if it's really an Easter egg - and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere - but I noticed the lunchbox that one of the characters grabs (can't remember who) to be picked up by the magnet in the trash sorter was a Six Million Dollar Man lunchbox. It's hard to see and I don't think they really show the front of it - but I recognized the side panel graphics.

I saw it on Monday in Imax 3D. Seeing the Night and Day short in 3D was worth the price of admission in itself!

But man, what a story. I was crying like a baby from the hand holding scene all the way to the end. Amazing movie!

I also loved seeing the imagination made real opening, with tons of homages to the first movie. :cool

Saw it today and was very impressed. It was a great great movie (cost me $82 to see it and buy snacks for 3 of us).

I vow to buy every Lotso Huggins plush dolls and throw them in the fire!!

On a personal note when Andy's mom was upset seeing his empty room, reminded me of when my mom cried when I went off to college. I had no idea, at the time, that there was any reason for sadness. I lost my mom a few years ago to a battle with MS so that scene really hit me.

What a great movie and I do hope Disney let's Pixar stop at that. Anything more would be Shrek sequels and diminish our love for the series. I do want to have a webisode about Bo Peep and Rc tho (and Lenny). I'd LOVE to know they are ok. ;)

I think Ned Beatty's line "Where's your kid, now?" will be a sound bite that will live on in history as very evil, and replayed for the growing genation and take on a life of its own.

I do weep from time to time in movies, so I'm not heartless (Jessie being donated in TS2 gets me every time). But the hand holding scene wasn't sad to me at all - I was more of an anxious thing than a weepy thing - like: "I wonder how they'll get out of this situation, 'cause I know they're not going to let them die". Maybe if one didn't make it (but showed up later, of course) - it would be more of a weeper.

Ditto on everything here. I knew that they were going to be rescued by either the aliens or Barbie & Ken. I was actually counting on B&K but "the claw" comes through and fits better with the Toy Story mythos.

I DID get choked up at the end... with what was essentially a curtain call for all of them & I liked how we thought that Woody was in the "college box" until the very end.

I too thought that Andy might get a glimpse of Woody looking up at him and waving as he drove away with maybe a quick "huh?" doubletake, but in retrospect I think it's probably better to end the way it did. I'm SURE this was discussed in production meetings and they felt it better to leave Woody inanimate.

I wanted a line from Andy saying something along the lines of "If I were a toy I'd want to stay here, too," while holding Woody at the end.
What he did was close, and I was almost expecting some sort of sentient signal, but it still worked for me.
Man, was I sad when Andy drove off.
That on the heels of that hand holding scene, even though I knew rescue was coming, somehow.
Thankfully there were several minutes of scenes during the credits to recover sufficiently to return to the adult world where men do not tear up.
Absolutely loved that movie.

I already pulled the 'Spanish' version of me out for a laugh for the wife, although my 'moves' probably need work.

SPOLERS AHEAD!!!

Just got back tonight from seeing it. What a beautifully orchestrated film. Truly one of Pixar's Materpieces. I love all 3 Toy Story films.

I absolutely thought the whole way through was a joy. I absolutely love the characters they give to these toys and they really make you connect.

Definitely some misty-eyed parts. The firepit and holding hands moment was very intense and felt like something sad was about to happen, saved by a moment of joy and laughing out loud at those Pizza Planet aliens.

Nothing felt recycled and old in the film. They manage to keep the trilogy fresh 3 times and I loved this film.

I guess if they wanted they could make part 4, but I don't think it would be as effective as the third one ended. It felt like a beautiful end to a great journey with these toys. Andy's stuff near the end really connected with me. I always had feelings toward my childhood toys I managed to keep some of. When he drove off it was sad, but bittersweet. The toys get passed along to a worthy new owner.

A++ Definitely without a doubt. Don't think it needed to be in 3D, but it was cool seeing in in Imax 3D.

Bravo, Pixar. BRAVO!

I saw it today and yeah I cried at the end. Giving Woody away at the end. I still have all my toys that filled my childhood with thousands of fantastic memories, I can't get rid of them. Wondefull ending.

I think Ned Beatty's line "Where's your kid, now?" will be a sound bite that will live on in history as very evil, and replayed for the growing genation and take on a life of its own.

Do you think that was a direct nod to the line Edward G. Robinson delivered to Heston in The Ten Commandments?

"Where's your Messiah, now."

That's what it made me think of, anyway.

BTW, awesome film! A perfect trilogy!

Saw it yesterday. I was a die-hard fan from the first one, but it's fithteen years ago now and my interest was kinda lost along the years. But, still, it's Pixar and boy they sure know how to do magic.

Yup, I cried at the end, while Andy was explaining each of his toys to Bonnie. Because Pixar closed up the box on that story while saying " now it's time to grow up and move on to your adult life ". Toy Story is over, it has been fithteen years. Nostalgia fell on me with all its weight and tears started to pour.

Damn you Pixar, one day you'll make a bad movie ! You'll see ! ;)

Imagine if (after the credits) we see the girl that has Woody & co. at a garage sale and picks up Bo Peep and says something like, "Mommy can we get this? It would go good with my new cowboy doll!"

Saw it yesterday with my son. Nicely made and a great film but probably my least favourite of the TS movies. I'd have preferred more laugh-out-loud moments ("Jessie's right - she was wrong" was the funniest line for me).

I just don't see everyone's excitement over the hand-holding sequence - it felt a bit overblown to me, maybe I just never really believed the peril. There were some genuine misty eye moments though - the end, obviously and "Oh Andy". The initial set-up and everyone disbelieving and resenting Woody early on felt like we'd been there before.

I enjoyed the darker moments, although I would think they'd be a bit much for younger kids. Chuckles is a great character and his flashback is beautifully executed. I loved the scary Monkey too. I hope there are decent toys/figures of these two.

Ken is a great new character with his ambiguity and confusion. Loved the Bookworm's reaction to seeing Barbie's shoes under the disguise.

The 3D was very good and subtlety enhanced the film without taking over from the plot.

I suspect the film will grow on me after a second viewing. It does what it does extremely well, I think it just wasn't quite what I was expecting.

Im such a pansy. I was talking to this woman I work with about seeing this. and as I told her about the ending I choked up.

Meow meow meow.
